Hike

Hello Everyone, I heard that there might be a hike coming up soon.  Anyone have some more information?  Now that the weather is getting nicer, i'm going to try to go for a hike every weekend.  I have been going for the last couple weekends and was surprised to see that there are woods in Maryland. 

I think the weather is great for it now.  Maybe that should be our next meet and greet! Where are you Eric.  Lets get something together.  Hugs Kristen

Maryland is loaded with all types of terrain. The mountains to the beach one can discover all sorts of interesting places to explore.

Hi Neil, I organized a hike last year and will be doing more this year.  Unfortunately, I'm in school at the moment and probably won't schedule one until the semester is finished in late April.  Don't let that stop you!!  I really didn't set out to plan one.  I just happened to mention that I wanted to go and several people jumped on the wagon.  We had a great time, even if we did get lost.   --Eric

Unfortionatly I'm going to be busy this weekend and possibly next.  Where does everyone want to go?  Calvert Cliffs was a lot of fun, but it's about an hour and half drive from BWI.  Patapsco is close to baltimore and it was interesting.  I haven't been to the great falls yet and want to go there, it's near 495 on the west side before crossing into VA. 

I am busy till mid April but I want to plan to go to the Falls in June sometime for sure and anyone else that wants to go.  I am up for anything in April, you pick the place and post it and we will see how many people we can get together and go.  I love Gun Powder in Harford co, there is a thought.  Let me know Neil what you think and anyone else HELLO OUT THERE!!! Hi Neil, There are tons of state parks in MD and lots of different places to hike and camp.  Are you not originally from md?  Here are some web links to find the state parks: http://www.msa.md.gov/msa/mdmanual/01glance/html/parks.html http://www.dnr.state.md.us/publiclands/ I hope by next year to be physically up for participating because i think it would be great to have a Maryland/DC/VA OH hike and camping trip.  It would be great to sit around a campfire with everyone after what we have gone through to get the weight off.  Right now I'll have to live vicariously through you guys.  I can hardly "hike" up from my car to my front door at my current weight.  I have been to Great Falls many times in the past and yes it is a good hike. Just do not swim in the river, as there are stories in the news each year about serious injuries and death coming to folks who swim in the river
