John Hopkins Support Group??????

Hi Y'all! I have now moved in to an apartment in Germantown.  I considered going to the Rockville Support Group with Dr. Barry Greene's office - but when I called and when the coordinator from CMMC in MS called, they were VERY RUDE to us both!  I AM SURE that the people in the group are not rude, but I don't want to go to a DR's office that is going to be rude to me!  Anyone else experience this???? I was very involved with Support Group in MS and want to continue to do so.  I was invited to be in the commercial for CMMC - and it is now running on the local channels in central MS.  It was a ton of fun to do too! I called Dr. Sweitzer's (sp) office and they were very pleasant and helpful.  The support group info was good and I wanted to get a feel from y'all before I went.  I need support group - I am finding myself in the kitchen way to often and eating things I know I should not and I think it is because of the stress of moving - dealing with getting my son, Ethan, in school and finding a job for me.  My older son, Geoffrey, stayed behind in MS to finish up this semester at college and will be getting here the end of May, first part of June. Tracey, I am sorry you had a bad experience with Dr. Greene's office, who did you talk to? The coordinator at Dr. Greene's office might be rude but there are lots of wonderful people in that support group. They actually just opened a new siupport group for people 11 months and up post-op which deals more with helping verterans' , If you call back ask to talk to Ada, she is a patient of Dr. Greene herself who just started last month working in the office as full time. She also helps with the support group, granted she is Lap-band patient, but still cna help you a lot in channeling you to the right contact. I was very disheartened when I spoke with them, so maybe they were just having a bad day......I will try again!  I will also check out the next group meeting.  I won't be 11 months until May, but can attend the other for April.     And I do look forward to meeting you! TRY DR. AVERBACH'S OFFICE AT ST. AGNES THEY ARE SUPER NICE!!!!!

I haven't had surgery yet but have been going to the Hopkins one for a few months now- and I like it. It's run by the Bariatric coordinator, Christine Walsh. They usually have a speaker and then time for people to talk, ask questions etc. Donna
