I think your bible quote is your answer. Things happen all the time. We must put our trust somewhere that we will be successful. I know I'm glad I did.

I DID THE SAME THING, AND I'M STILL HERE TO TELL ABOUT IT. IT FREAKED ME OUT ALSO, BUT IF YOU NOTICE A LOT OF THEM ARE NOT RECENT. WLS HAS COME A LONG WAY. AND THEY ALL HAD DIFFERENT REASONS FOR BEING THERE. THEY WERE NOT NECISSARILY FROM SURGERY.

I did something even worse.  I had the nerve to watch the actual procedure on YouTube.   I nearly fell out of my chair.  I had to call my daughter who had to console me.  She told me that said would no****ch it.  Please if you have not had the surgery, I suggest that you don'****ch the YouTube video.   260/260/130

It made me quite sad as I looked through many of the memorials, but one thing I noticed is that not everyone on the list died from complications or anything related to WLS. Some of them are people who had surgery, lived well after for many years and died of other causes (cancer, etc). As others have pointed out, although the surgeries all have risks, that risk is sooo small. Only you can make the decision that's right for you. Just keep your faith and with the support of your friends and family I'm sure you will be just fine :)

I am so glad I did no****ch it first. I don't know if I could go through with it. And just the the previous post stated; there are risks but they are small. There are risks anytime you are put under, whether it is for WLS or a minor surgery.
