I am trying so hard to find a support group in Salisbury or Delmarva MD. They all seem to be in Baltimore, and I am going nuts trying to find one! Can anyone help me please?

Super proud mommy to Dylan, Owen and Sophia Brianne!

Hello and welcome! I don't know of any out that way but there is a lady here that her name is Mo that might know. She is away for the weekend I am sure she will chime in as soon she reads this post.    Take care

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.

You may be closer to some Delaware support groups - why not head to their board to see if they exist.

I am having the same problem.  I know that there is a support group in Harrington but I can't find any in lower Delaware.  Maybe we could start our own support group for those who choose to not go to Delmarva Bariatric Center.  They have a support group on Tuesday but I'm not sure it is open to "outsiders".  I just called them...."Our support meetings are only open to our patients."  Some kind of support group huh!? Let me know if anyone is interested in getting something started downstate DE or in the Salisbury area. Deb

My suggestion to anyone on the Shore is always Delmarva Bariatric, and had suggested that once before but not sure about their accepting outside patients. As another poster has said, they apparently do not allow outsiders. I had my surgery with DBC and traveled twice a month for the first 2 years post op to Salisbury for support group when they still had the Saturday morning meetings.   I attend a more informal local group now, but really miss the structure of the professional group support. There are a lot of patients from the Eastern Shore who have traveled to Baltimore for surgery, so you should be able to get interest in a group to get one started.    Best wishes as your WLS journey continues. Hugs, Mo

Comparison is the thief of joy!

If we spend our time comparing our life/weight loss/body to others, we totally miss what WE have accomplished.   Keep in mind how far you have come and what you can do now that you couldn't do weeks/months/years ago.   I hate the expression " It's all good", but in this case it fits!   Wherever you are in your journey  ... It's ALL good!!!
