An update and pics from Cira & Gia Makaila
I am so sorry it has taken me forever to post an update. Well, I have to say that I am so thankful for all that has kept us in your thoughts and prayers and has sent good wishes and congrats to us!
It has been a tough week for sure. I had a major scare with Gia Makaila. She was not voiding and went 28 hours at one point and we took her to the ER. They catherized her and she filled a full tube with urine that was orange in color very concentrated so they could tell she was not voiding and I was not a crazy lunatic. Some RNs were looking at me weird and asked me if this was my first baby? I said quickly look here now!!! I am a mother of 6 ages 22, 20, 19, 6, 3 and now this baby. Plus I have 2 grandbabies that I have taken care of and I think if my baby has not voided in her pamper I should know it. Then this nurse tells me well with these new pampers now a days you can't really tell if there is pee in it since they are so absorbant. I became a bit upset and I asked her how many kids do you have and she said none and I said so I rest my case because you do not have the experience. lol
Thank goodness her urine test and blood work came back fine. She was not dehydrated and definitely getting enough breast milk since my milk came in on day 3. Blood work showed her kidneys were working fine producing urine it was just not coming out. So after the catherization I followed up with ehr pediatrician and I was told to massage her tummy where the bladder is and that should help her void. The first time I did that her urine shot out projectile right accross my bed which scared the heck out of me. After that it would take about 12 hours before she would void again. With all her follow up appointments she was gaining an ounce or two each day as of Monday she was 4lb 13 ounces just 1 ounce shy from her birth weight. I am happy to report that since last night she has been going just fine without me massaging her, The pediatrician thinks she had a small blockage in her urethra by (epilitheal cells not sure of the spelling) and with the cath and massaging it has flushed it out.
I thank God for that and I am just over the moon with my precious little angel. I am dealing with her tongue tie it gives her a hard time to latch on my breast but when she finally does she nurses like a champ. Pediatrician said they will not have that fixed until she is like 2.
Other than that she is doing great does not fit in any of her 0 to 3 months clothes they fit so big, lol
I am attaching a few pics and I will post more later. I have to get dinner ready for hubby to take to work.
As for me I am doing pretty good just very tired and haven't slept much. Miss Gia has party time set for after 11pm all the way to like 6:30 am. OMG I am a walking zombie. lol I have a herniated idsc and bulging one with degenerative disc disease so I am in a lot of pain. I can only take tylenol and I got to see my PCP yesterday and I asked for a referral to go to a chiroprator to get adjusted and treated hopefully that will get me back to normal in a few weeks or so. I also have a very bad neck and the pain is excruciating but I am not going to complain. I am thankful for my blessings and my little Princess. It is all worth it!!!

5 days old a little jaundice but nothing major it is resolving by just taking sunlight at home.
My paci is bigger than me! lol This is a cool pacifier it has these two flaps that if it falls it automatically closes so the nipple never touches the floor or any surface. I bought it months ago at a motherhood store. She loves it!

4lbs 14 ounces 17 inches long or should I say short!! My itty bitty baby!!
I was looking a little rough with my hair sorry. lol I must say you must buy the Infallible lipstick by Loreal (Beyonce promotes it) I put it on at 3:330 in the morning on my way to the hospital and I gave birt at 6:35pm this pic was taken like 7:30pm and I still had my lipstick on! LOL Buy it it is worth the 9 bucks!

Hey sista friend! You know I already think Miss Gia is beyond precious! Sorry to hear she was having some potty issues, but glad they seem to be resolved. I got a total visual of her peeing across the room though hehehe btw, you should have slapped the childless nurse. HELLO! I don't care how absorbent diapers are you can TELL when they have urine in them. hehehe I'll see you and the family as soon as I can nail down a good date/time for you.
