Hey everyone: Kathy T and I are going on the cruise to lose ( Link below)  and wondered if anyone else would like the information.  Tia is also thinking about going as well. My plan is to do a couple things I have always wanted to do but never thought I would.  I'm gonna  parasail and maybe swim with the dolphins. I am so excited:  Come on and join in the fun. http://www.rubycruises.com/ctl2008/default.aspx   Darla

I'll have to aim for this one next year! I just booked and paid for my kids and I to go on Royal Carribean June 28 - July 3 to Grand Cayman and Cozumel. Don't think I could pull off a 2nd cruise within a  3 month period! :)  Hope you all enjoy though!

Hi,  I've never heard of Cruise to Lose.  Where can I find more information about what Cruise to Lose is? How it got started, what to expect, etc... I tried the link to provided and it offers only information about the ship, and the cost of the trip. Thanks  Antoinette

Well since this is my first one I don't know what to expect either. They have some pictures thru the link above from last years trip. They usually invite a couple of Dr's specialzing in WLS and have a couple of get togethers during the week.   I love cruising and cann't wait to go.  The only thing I am concerned about is being around all that food LOL. I have not been on a cruise  in five years( or any other vacation for that matter) so I am really excited.  The best part is if you don't want  to go to the get togethers  there is always plenty to do on the ship.  And If you book thru Ruby cruises I think there is a discount  because of the #of people. Thanks Darla!! 'I've never been on a cruise (at first because I couldn't afford it, then as I got bigger I was just too self-conscious about my appearance to go). I'm determined to stretch myself and try new things. This cruise sounds like the perfect opportunity. Blessings, Antoinette

Cruising is the one type of vacation that truly offers something for everyone. No matter what weight, what activity level, etc. There is so much to do. I've been on 2 now, the last one being a very lavish 12 day cruise 12/05 (I didn't pay for it, lol). My ex is quite large, and even he was able to get around and be much more active than if we had attempted to fly somewhere and go to theme parks, hiking, etc. Of course, there was no adventuring on that cruise for me. BUT, not this one! I'll be able to do anything I want. I too am slightly concerned about being around all of that food. However, my pouch is very good at telling me when it's full. So, while I will have to walk away from tasting some things, I won't be walking away hungry and that will make a huge difference. Plus, I know from reading about last years cruise (there are pictures in the link that Darla posted) that there are WLS friendly foods offered. I hope others will consider joining us. The price of this cruise is quite good. I checked the price through 2 other discount outlets and found one to be the same, and the other to be slightly higher. Plus, there are guest speakers and events that we will be invited to because we are going through this particular travel agent (who is a WLS alum).
Hugs!

Kathy/Darla:

Are you two taking DH or significant others, or is the a "girls cruise out?"

Actually, neither, in my opinion. I am not taking anyone, but wouldn't consider it a girls only trip. I think the more the merrier!

Hey Darla!  You are doing So well!  Don't worry about the food, your pouchie will tell you when to stop and if it is a Cruise to Lose they food choices are likely smart ones!  Not sure that Floyd and I can do this type of cruise with Kylie so maybe next year when we'd be more comfortable leaving her for more than an overnight.  have a great time!!!!  You are braver than me, I'm terrified of heights so the parasailing is a no go for me.

Revised to VSG (6/11/09) weighing 253...
