BLOOD CLOTS
There is no reason for you to have "prophylaxis" for clots prior to surgery unless you are already at high risk - for example..have had a pulmonary emboli or thrombus in the past. They all use prophylaxis after surgery - some just heparin in the tissue after the surgery, some put you on lovenox after you go home for a few days. They all use some type of compression device on your legs as well. Just remember to walk after surgery no matter how much it hurts (ask for meds!) and cough no matter how much it hurts.
Good luck.
Great advice from the the person *****sponded to your post. I totally agree with the advice.
I want to wish you an uneventful surgery and a very speedy recovery. Keep us posted on how everything went.
I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.

SURGERY WENT FINE. I WAS VERY NAUSEOUS THOUGH, SO THEY KEPT ME AN EXTRA DAY. THAT WAS FINE WITH ME BECAUSE I WOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN ABLE TO KEEP THE FLUIDS DOWN. I'M HAVING A DIFFICULT TIME GETTING IN ALL MY FLUIDS, I THINK I WILL CALL THE DR'S OFFICE TOMORROW. I DON'T WANT TO BECOME DEHYDRATED. I'M ALSO VERY TIRED BUT I HAVE MANAGED TO WALK AROUND THE BLOCK TWICE TODAY. THANKS FOR THINKING OF ME! ROXANNE
