I need updates on everyone, our board has been too quiet?  How are you?   How is your weight loss?  Do you have anything new to share, family, fun, did you win Money etc......... Hugs Kristen I am doing great, the scale has finally moved again and I have lost 81 pounds so far.  The family is really good.  Gabriella is going to be 7 years old next month and I can't believe it.  She keeps telling me she is tired of being a only child (who is telling her this crap) and wants a brother or sister.  I told she is nuts and need child therapy.  I have been scrapbooking a lot of my picture in my spare time and going to the gym here and there.  It is still a daily struggle to my protein in but I plan to really work on that this coming week.  I hope all is well! Hugs Kristen

It has been quiet lately.  I, too, am doing great.  I was banded on 1/4/08 and have lost 26.5 lbs.  The doctor says my weight loss is very good.  I'm very happy with my progress.  I'm getting my first fill on 3/12.  My family is great.  I have three children, boys 15 & 16 and a daughter that is 20.  We're planning vacation.  We go to the Outer Banks (NC) and stay in the 4x4 area.  I love the beach. Thanks for posting this thread.  I would love to get to know the Maryland folks better!

I am new to the board. I am having lap band on 3/13/08. I live in Laurel ans am a nurse in a Skilled Care facitity. I have one son, he is 16 and just got his drivers license. I am ready for this surgery. I feel like I have been waiting forever. I only waited for my Insur. companys approval for 4 days. However, the six month supervised seemed like forever. I have a pantry full of protein I hope that I what I have is ok. I brought 6 cases of Micer milk because I heard good reviews but now I see some places say the have too much sugar. I also have the bullets and I bought the Bariatric advantage vitamins for lap band. They were expensive but my Dr. office did recommend the and I figured that I would get all the vits and minerals thet were needed if I did buy them. Thanks NANCY

The old saying if you have nothing good to say don't say anything at all has been behind my silence. I have had an extremely stressful couple of weeks. Unfortunately, it is ongoing. I have managed to get some rest this weekend. Staying home Friday also helped. If I haven't been sleeping, I have been crocheting or taking my son to work. Hopefully, brighter days will appear shortly.

Things are busy because MSAs are coming up and our school has to pass this year. I have lost 37 pounds and am feeling pretty good. I am getting my protein in and I think too many carbs also. I am going to watch those carbs this week. I havent started to work out yet, I really want to but the cold weather just keeps me inside! Well, that is it for me! Glad to hear about everyone else.

Hi, I am doing well. I got my surgery less than two weeks ago and have been healing fine. I've already lost 20 lbs in less than two weeks, so I am very happy. Hopefully it will continue like that for awhile since I have so much to lose. I go back to work tomorrow, which really sucks. but you gotta do what you gotta do. I have a project to work on as son as I get back that I am a little stressed out about. But I'll figure it out, I'm sure. Thanks to everyone that has supported me on this board!!!

Hugs Kristen Nancy You sound like someone I know (me).  I was there!  When I was ready, I was ready and I got stocked up and ready to roll.  This is an exciting time for you.  Please keep us posted.  This is a great place to come for support and answers.  We have all been there.  Good Luck! Hugs Kristen Aime It is good to hear from you, I have been thinking about you and that new grandson of yours.  I hope to see you at the next support meeting in Glen Burnie.  Hugs Kristen Callies 37 pounds that is great.  I hear ya on the carb. thing and I plan to really work on that this week.  I got some wasabi edamame and that has 14g of protein per 1/4 cups.  I love edamame, you should try it, reminds me of a carb, ok almost but it is a good snack for you.  Keep up the good work, let me know how you do this week. Hugs Kristen Nicole That is great 20 pounds!  You rock!  Just remember going back to work to keep drinking and get that protein in.  I told myself everytime the phone rings, after that call I would sip my water and that worked for me.  NO STRESS!  You will get your project done and move mountains.  Keep us all posted.  You are doing a wonderful job. Hugs Kristen

What a great post - it has been quiet! I am doing ok - have been stalled in weight loss since the end of Oct/beginning of Nov, but have lost 125# since last January (RNY was 3/6/07).  I keep hearing about the 3-4 mo plateau around the 1 year mark - I guess that's where I am, because I am not gaining or losing.  I have  been adding a little stationary bike and walking  back in (fell off the exercise wagon for winter but know I need to get my tail in gear) and have been eating a little more in the carb (the healthy ones though) area than I need too.  I think that as the plateau has gotten longer and longer I have gotten into pushing the envelope more and more as to see what I can tolerate and NOT gain.  Now I am back re-focused on doing it 100% and hopefully will break this thing soon!  I have had to travel quite a bit for work too lately (6 weeks from Dec through the first week of Feb), and that made it a touch difficult, but only because I let it...

I have a bad cold other then that nothing new here .  I am a bit nervous.  My parents are planning their 60th anniversary trips.  They will take three and will be taking  family members along .  There are three brothers and their wives, my sister and her husband, three nephews, five nieces and two great nieces.   My dilemma is that I am still afraid that my weight will cause a problem on the planes. I am around 255 still and don't want to cause other people to be uncomfortable sitting next to me :  also I hope to avoid needing a seat belt externder but I think I will ask for one anyway just in case.    The rest of the family will get one trip each but since I am the only single one of their kids mom has told me I am welcome \to take all of them.  The first is a weekend trip to VEGAS  WOO HOO  cann't wait for that one:  the second will be a 5 day bermuda cruise ( leaving from Baltimore so no  plane involved here)  the third will be a july trip to Disney ( thinking about skipping this one )  Its bound to be HOT  and I have never been a big amusement park person but maybe with 110 Lbs. less it would be better???   Any opinions would be appreciated.

First, what a great thread, thanks. Second, I'm doing great. My weight loss has slowed a bit, but I'm not concerned. I think my body is getting used to all the changes. I also know that I still struggle with the protein intake, so my body is probably worried about starvation and holding onto the pounds for dear life. My pant size continues to get smaller. I no longer need plus sized pants, WOW.  I have started my WLS scrapbook, and am having fun with it. Third to Darla... don't worry about flying. I was reasonably comfortable at your weight in an airline seat. It could have been better, but I didn't need an extender. Last time I flew, I was around 280, and it was ok.  Not that weight is the only determining factor. I think you will be OK. Plus, if your parents want to take someone to Disney in July, I'm game . Love to the great updates. I'm proud to be a part of this group. We are awesome! Aime, I hope that you find peace and calm in your life soon. Good thoughts continue to flow towards your family all the time!
Hugs!
