Just got a call from my PCP.........

I may have an issue I had my preop bloodwork done on yesterday and my sugar is sky high over 300.  I have been on this liquid diet for 3 days and have been following it I have been drinking the Atkins Shakes and he says that that may be what is driving my sugar up.  Well at any rate I have to go back Wednesday to have my bloodwork redone if my sugar is still reading high I will have to postpone mu surgery.  I am willing to accept it however it comes.  I believe in the power of God for every situation in my life.  I know that if it is in his will I will have my surgery on March 5th if not I am willing to wait but I would be lying if I said that I would not be disappointed if I have to wait. 

Janeene: don't give up hope yet!  Were you on diabetic meds?  Did you go off of them?  Which Adkins shake are you drinking.  There is one that has a LOT of sugar in them.  The one that I drink has only one gram and it's Adkin's Advantage.  You can get it at Walmart (four pack for about 6.00) or SAM's (12 pack for around 16.00).  Check the sugar in other things too.   Call Arlene too. let her know what's going on.  She can advise too. I saw Dr. Singh on Wednesday.  Nothing new to report except that I will see a liver specialist next Wednesday there in Baltimore and depending on what he says, Dr. Singh and I will then make the decision about WLS. Thanks Deb....did you get  the PM that I sent to you.  I just talked to Arlene she told me to do liquids during the day and eat a high protein dinner at night like fish or chicken with a leafy vegetable.  I am starting that today.  She said 3 days prior to my surgery go back to all liquids.

Glad you talked with Arlene.  I just KNOW things will work out for you. I did get your message.  Thank you so very much.  The support of people here has been wonderful!  Couple that with the wonderful, compassionate doctor that we share and life is good!  Dr. Singh and I are in this journey of mine together until the end.  Hopefully, the liver doctor will have some good suggestions and then Dr. Singh and I can set our date again.
