StAgnes Group CANCELLED Tonight
I am cancelling tonight's LapBand Support Group due to weather. Our rule for the group is that when schools are cancelled or evening activities are cancelled, our group will not be held.
I'm sorry for those of you who were planning to come- we had such a good meeting last time.
Our next meeting will be held on Wednesday March 5th from 6-7pm. Dr. Andrew Averbach will be our featured guest.
Looking forward to seeing you at another meeting.

Hi Cathy. What a good ideas to use OH to post closures and schedule changes. I hope you don't mind some St. Agnes questions. I had been forwarded to your voice mail last week when I called there and got disconnected somehow before leaving a message. Then when i called back you were closed. It was the end of the day.
If you would, please clarify for me the situation wiht the surgeons there. Will Dr.VonReuden be joing the practice with Dr Singh and Averbach and be part of the center for excellence or will his practice be a completely separate one ? I was told he would have his own office staff when I called. The receptionist transferrred my call to his line and I heard a voice mail state that I would have to leave a message and be called back to schedule. So I did. I would like to have his actual number if possible and his office address and fax number. Also, I want to know whether any surgeons at St. Agnes perform the duodenal switch or the distal roux n y. Thanks!
Jennifer, I don't think Cathy reads this board regularly - maybe she reads PM's though? There are going to be lot of changes happening over at St. Agnes and at Dr. Singh's office. No, I don't believe DVR is joining Dr's. Singh and Averbach and I'm not sure how much Cathy is at liberty to tell you. Suffice it to say there is a big move for hospitals to try to HIRE doctors as their own - this may be what's going on with DVR, et al. Matter-of-fact, if you've been admitted to a hospital recently, you may have had a "hospitalist" care for you and not your primary care physician. St. Agnes is definitely trying to push bariatrics as their forte - sort-of like St. Joes is known for cardiac, Union is a big ortho and hand place, etc.
Hi Jennifer,
Sorry I missed your call last week as well as your post. Feel free to call me Monday after 1230pm as I will be teaching my preop classes earlier. Dr. VonRunden will be starting at St. Agnes middle of next month and his office at St Agnes will be scheduling his appointments. He will be joining the hospital staff, but will be independent of Drs. Singh and Averbach. We are proud to now have 3 well known and well respected surgeons at St Agnes.
