UPDATE: GYN APPT
Darla,
As I posted below, I really like my GYN. She's at Bayview.
Also, I have a friend who's a GYN. She's the mother of one of Madeline's classmates and she practices at Anne Arundel Medical Center. She's very nice and has been incredibly supportive of my weight loss efforts, for example, she called and asked to take Madeline to do something with her kid the week or so after my surgery.

I showed your post to two of the 7 doctors I work with and they could not understand how clueless your obgyn was about your weight loss. They did say if you have had a ton of sugerys in the past they may open you but not like she was saying. I think you should try to get a second opionion somewhere. I am worried about you and don't want you to have surgery with someone that is not really tuned into your body. She is not a great doctor when it comes to charting cause your weight loss should have been on the top. My doctors look at that. So with all that said please check into a second doctor. Ask your weight loss doctor if they would recommend someone, that is a thought.
HUGS KRISTEN
Hi,
I am a women's health nurse practitioner and would suggest that if you really need to have the surgery you can opt to have a vaginal hysterectomy. There may be some other options, other than a hysterectomy, that you can review. It depends on what you are experiencing. I hope you find a better doctor.

Darla, all I can offer is sympathy for your pain. I know you'll find the right doctor, who will have only your best interest and good health in mind. In the meantime, perhaps contact your PCP for the name of a recommended GYN? Or, even COMP?
I wish you luck, and speed in finding the solution that is right for you! I'll be sending only good, positive healing vibes your way!
Hugs!

Thanks everyone for the replies: I knew I would find support here.
I am going to get a couple of other opinions before making any decision.
I have only been seeing this Dr. a couple of years and too be honest I have
always left her office depressed and frustrated.
I had a GYN for over 20 years that I absolutly loved but he developed a chronic health
condition that was so bad he decided to take his own life rather then put himself and his family
thru whatever his problem was. He was the sweetest man and I was shocked that he took
his own life but I suppose until you have walked in someone elses shoes you do not
know what you might do.
Anyway like I said thanks again for all the support. I am going to send a fax today
requesting copies of my records from the current Gyn's office. She will probably
charge me for it but at this point I don't care. And I am sure if she won't give me the records
I can put something together from my PCP: I always have copies of mamograms and lab
results sent to her anyway.
Tia sent me the name of a Dr at GBMC and I will be calling Kristin as well:
They have Dr's near Columbia which is near Jessup where I work so I have several
choices of where to go.
Love you all

Ohhhhh Darla I am so sorry you had to deal with this insentive %$^&*()#%^^ B&&*(H
Enough is enough girl I am glad you are going else where. You do not deserve to get treated like this. That is totally rediculous.
You will find a great doctor that will listen to you and give you the best options.
This doctor can not refuse to give you your records or have them faxed to the other dr's. Do what you have to do to get out of there asap.
Big hugs to you!!
I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.
