Feeling " Homeless"

Well It has happened.  I know we have all been discussing it for a while. GBMC's comp page no longer lists DVR as a surgeon. Feeling a bit deserted I must admit. I truly wish him well at St Agnes but I have decided to stay with GBMC's program. The location and the fact that the surgury was done there, all my records and other Dr's are there make the decision a no brainer for me. I have heard wonderful things about Dr Mo and know I will be in good hands. I guess the lack of DVR's name just made me realize this is no longer in the future:  this is happening now .  Guess I will call today and set my 9 month appt with Dr. Mo. Take care everyone. Darla

Hey Darla!  I can understand what you're feeling.  I hope that you will come to love the very wonderful Dr. Moein. 

BTW, who is Dr. Flowers?  His name is on the recording, but not the website and I've never seen/heard anyone mention him.

I think Dr. Flowers joined the team sometime last year, but hasn't been very active until now.

I don't know who Dr Flowers is ?  Anyone else have a clue?

I've known Dr. Flowers since he was a first year resident and I was a nurse down at UM.  He actually goes by Jack and was one of the first guys in town doing laparoscopic surgery back in the early 90's.  He has been a general surgeon for years but I understand is going to start doing more bariatrics.  His wife works in the bariatric program at Union - I wonder if she'll be coming up to GBMC.  I know Jack on a personal level as well as professional level - great guy!

Hi Darla, You are going to be in great hands with Dr. MO.  I decided to follow DVR because St. Agnes is closer to me and I like that.   You are not deserted at all so don't feel that way. That is why you do have the option to go to St. Agnes.   I have never met Dr. John Flowers but when I had my surgery he was in the operating room with DVR.  He also did the test they do after the surgery is done to see if there are any leaks.   He has been at GBMC getting acclimated since early 2007 I believe.    I hear good things about him.

I am staying with GBMC as well.  My primary doc is there and all my records, plus it is closer to my home.  I wish DVR all the best.
