My PCP Dr. Ann Morrill
Does anyone else here use her? I am having trouble w/ these people. her associates can be so rude and i feel like i am not being heard. I called there the other day asking for a b12 prescription, since that is one of the options, right. i was told no because it is too dangerous. does that even make sense? i just faxed her the page in the nutrition handbook stating we could have that so if she doesn't prescribe after that, I am going to look for another pcp. any suggestions. i live in harford county but can go to baltimore county as well. thanks for listening to me whine.
Hey Nicole -
Mary Ellen Groff, LRNP, is great!! She's a huge advocate of wls and takes good care of me, as does her staff. I don't care for many of the other docs there, I've always found better, more compassionate care with NP's. I get my monthly B-12 shot there every month!!!!
Give them a call, they're located in White Marsh (right next to Sweet Fixations Candy Shoppe!!!!)

Good luck!
Tia
Sorry to hear that you are having that trouble Nicole. Like Tia, I love my CRNP. She is supportive of WLS in patients who need it and who are well informed and knowledgeable about the process. She works out of 2 offices and she seems to be in the Catonsville office more.

I will second that. I have never been seen by her personally, but my ex who had a LOT of medical issues did. I went to his appointment with her, and she was AWESOME. She was practicing at Franklin Sq. Hospital at the time, and on loan for one day a week to my PCP's office at Good Samaritan, and he met with her specifically to discuss nutrition. She really knows her stuff when it comes to that! Like Tia she is very fond of WLS as she spoke to him in depth about it. He has since decided not to do it for whatever reason, but that is his mistake to make. At her suggestion, I did a lot of research about it for him, and that research has proven invaluable to me.
I'm planning to switch to the practice in the same building as my surgeon, but I am tempted to switch to Mary Ellen Groff, because of my experience with her.
Hugs!

Nicole, Just warning you - you will never meet another Dr. like Dr. Morrill. She gives pts access to her office phone, cell phone, home phone....heck, I'm surprised she just doesn't have office hours in her living room! I send quite a few of my pts. to Dr. Mark Sokolow but he's in Towson. In Bel Air I send pts. to Dr. Bob Knight - I think he's on Plumtree. But before you flee, try talking directly to her. She is very caring and concerned for her pts!
Your surgeon can write the prescription for you. My dr did and I give the shot to myself at home monthly.
Sorry you are having trouble. I hate when doctors are so out of the loop with WLS patients.
I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.

What is the dosage of the B-12 injection? I have been having a lot of fatigue lately and am wondering if I would be better served by injectable rather than subligual. Admittedly, I am not the best with taking my vits, especially the B12 because it is subligual.
