Just thought I would say hello
Hello to all my fellow Marylanders. I am new to the site and just wanted to introduce myself. I live out in Ellicott city. I am just starting the process. I meet with my surgeon on Feb 14 and have already been cleared by psyc, cardiology, and PCP. I still have to do three months of a weight program with my PCP. I am a nurse practitioner and I think that the thought of surgery is scaring me more than it has to. But, the thought of an early death etc. outweighs everything. Anyway, I have learned quite a bit so far from you all and hopefully that will lead me to calmer waters.
Hi there!
Welcome to the board. You could not have found a better place for unconditional love and support during your WLS journey.
Hugs, Mo
Comparison is the thief of joy!
If we spend our time comparing our life/weight loss/body to others, we totally miss what WE have accomplished. Keep in mind how far you have come and what you can do now that you couldn't do weeks/months/years ago. I hate the expression " It's all good", but in this case it fits! Wherever you are in your journey ... It's ALL good!!!
Welcome to the MD forum!!! It is normal to feel the way you do. I think that everyone that has been through this process has had to deal with the very same feelings.
I want to wish you all the best in your journey and good luck on your consult!!
Keep us posted on how everything goes.
Take care and stay in touch!
I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.
Those that mind don't matter, and those that matter don't mind.

Welcome to the board. I, too am from Ellicott City and had my surgery in September. This board has been very helpful to me. We all have experienced what you are going through. It helped me to know that I wasn't the only one. Be sure to go to the support group meetings. The one that just started at North County HS could help you a lot. Come join us on Feb 5. It's about 20 minutes from Columbia.
