Monday morning updates

Good morning everyone! Here is my news for the day.  I got to feed my grandson for the first time yesterday. I loved holding him and watching him suck on that bottle. He has a good strong greedy suck. In fact, you have to stop him so he takes time to breathe. N was surprised at how I handled him. I just took him in my hands and burped him as if it was a normal sized baby. She had never seen me do that. The nurse commented that I seemed to be a pro at it. I told her that this was revisiting the past for me.  All in all, it did my heart good. The baby is 4 lbs 2 ounces now. He is still not able to maintain his temperature. I expect it may be another week before he will be released to go home.  I will be taking N to be evaluated again for a heart transplant. I expect she will have a lvad Left ventricle assist device implanted in the near future which is a step prior to transplant. From what I have read, these devices greatly improve the health of the heart as they take over the work of the heart allowing healing to take place.  I hope everyone has a great Monday!

(((( Aime )))) Sounds like the baby is growing by leaps and bounds!   It is so great that he's doing so well and may be home soon. Good news also about N's heart.   Hope that works out and she's on her way soon as well. Hugs, Mo

Comparison is the thief of joy!

If we spend our time comparing our life/weight loss/body to others, we totally miss what WE have accomplished.   Keep in mind how far you have come and what you can do now that you couldn't do weeks/months/years ago.   I hate the expression " It's all good", but in this case it fits!   Wherever you are in your journey  ... It's ALL good!!!

Sounds encouraging Aime, which is wonderful. Your grandson is gaining quickly, which I'm sure pleases the doctors, and takes some worry from his parents. I hope that N finds relief soon, and that her eventual transplant will be very successful!

Hugs!

Awwww Aime your grandbaby sounds like he is doing perfect.   He has grown so much too.   I hope and pray that N does great with the treatment that she gets.    Let us know when the baby gets to go home.   Any new pics to share? hugs,
