Happy Monday!

Hey all - Happy Monday!  And for Terry M., it certainly is - this is her first Monday as an engaged woman!!!!  I am so happy for her and Mark I can't stand it!!!  Her ring is gorgeous, I mean, you gotta love a man who says, "Get whatever you want!!!"  I know firsthand how Terry always thought she'd be alone, that she'd never find a decent guy, and that it was going to be her and McMom forever!!  Not that that's a bad thing, but I know that Terry wanted to share her life with someone special.   So, Terry, WOO-HOO!!!!!!!!!!  I can't wait to hear all the details and see the ring up close and personal!!  You're my inspiration!! Okay, everybody, dry your eyes, and get ready to have your jaw drop - I had a date, actually two dates, with the same guy this weekend!!!!  His name is Chris, he's 41, and he is the GM of a local hotel.  I met him on Friday night and then on Saturday night, he and I joined Heather and Floyd at Nacho Mama's in Canton where Heather got plastered on margaritas!!  Oops, sorry, that was ME!!!!  Four margaritas!!!  That's a lot for me post-op, but they flowed down just like water!!  I was good and had black bean soup and split a catfish taco with Heather (hey, we're all about the protein).  Chris is going to attend an MSP retirement party with me this weekend - he's a brave soul to confront 150+ people he doesn't know!!  But he insists he'll be fine, even though I'll be extremely busy for the first hour or so.  It'll give him a chance to meet my MSP friends, and for them to meet him.  Keep your fingers crossed - he's a nice guy and has manners, too!! Not much else going on with me, except despite my attempts to not get sick, I think I am.  Of course, we had KB over the weekend, and they were still sick, so I guess it was inevitable, although I thought I had escaped it.  They're better today, but on Saturday, poor K developed an allergic reaction to the Tamiflu and broke out in huge hives.  We stopped that and started her on Benadryl, so she slept all day.  B said to me, "Tia, does that medicine do that all the time?" and when I told him it did, he suggested we give it to her more often!!!  I swear to God!!!  That poor little guy is terrorized by his big sister, so he's happy when she's quiet!! Alright, got a busy week with the retirement party coming up, so I'd better get to it! Tia

Pssssssssssssssssssst .. Tia ????   It's TUESDAY !!!!!  Crazy morning here already .. I can't believe it's almost lunch time.   I'm starving because I've not had time for a snack and with lunch so close there's no point in it now.

I'm looking forward to meeting Chris ...   I have to remember when I get home tonight to charge both batteries for the camera and make sure I have a couple of SD cards clean so that I am ready for my photog duties on Friday evening.

Mr Mo left me 3 missed calls and a message on the cell phone and another message on my office phone .. to tell me that the RV guy with the firetruck called back .. he's willing to discuss our offer (which is just over half of what he was asking) .. so now I think we need to drop our offer to the 1/2 way point ...   Told Mr Mo that if he thinks it's worth that $$$ he can have it .. but I'm not so sure.   I've got to call our friend with the trucks here in Annapolis and ask him some questions.   Who would have thought we would EVER  consider owning our own personal fire truck????  Certainly not me ..

Talk to you later.

Hugs, Mo

Comparison is the thief of joy!

If we spend our time comparing our life/weight loss/body to others, we totally miss what WE have accomplished.   Keep in mind how far you have come and what you can do now that you couldn't do weeks/months/years ago.   I hate the expression " It's all good", but in this case it fits!   Wherever you are in your journey  ... It's ALL good!!!

OMG!!!!  Maybe that's why everyone's ignoring my post, thinking I'm a day behind.  Well, I AM blonde!!!  What can I say????? For the very first time, I'm eating hot and sour soup from the Chinese joint down the street.  It's yummy!!  Would probably be really good with chicken, too. I can't believe Chris actually said he'd come - I believe him, but I'll still REALLY believe it when I see it!!!  I'm so glad you'll be there, too! OMG!!  You can charge for rides on your fire truck!!!  Talk about toys - that's like the mother of all toys!!!!  Hey, go for it - you don't have anyone but the two of you to worry about and you both work too hard not to enjoy it.  Although I'm still trying to figure out where YOUR enjoyment of a fire truck comes in!!!!! C you! Tia

I'm in it for the photography .. and the parades!!!!!   One of these days I've got to pull out all the old CT parade pics and scan them and put them on my webshots.    Of course, this is happening about the same time that I am thinking we will get out with the RV a couple of times a month and instead he'll be headed for parades!!! Hugs, Mo

Sounds like you had a great weekend!  I love Nacho Mama's.  I haven't been there since surgery, but I used to live inside their Old Bay Wings and their queso.

Oh, now thanks very much!!!  Now I've gotta go back!!!!!  I love it there, too!  When we got there at 7, they said about an hour wait, but it was actually less.  However, when we left, it was a 2-1/2 hour wait!!!  And people were waiting!!!!  Their black bean soup is to die for!!  And the catfish tacos were fried nuggets of fish with a beet pink slaw, which, had I not been so drunk, might've looked good!!  But it tasted good!!  It's nice to share our food - cuts down on the cost a lot!!  Not sharing my margaritas, though!! Tia, I see you've already been told it's Tuesday, LOL, you really must be on cloud nine huh?  Who cares what day it is,I am really happy for you to have met someone you see as a potentially dateable man.  That is so fantastic beyond words.  You deserve it.  I know what you mean about having almost given up on that idea. Have fun and enjoy!!

Hey Jen - Well, I'm trying to keep my feet firmly planted on the ground so as not to get hurt.  But it was nice having some male attention for a change.  Some non-weird male attention that is, because believe me, I have had my share of whackos in the past couple of months.  Heather kept telling me I had to weed through them to get to the good ones, and I did a lot of weeding!!! We'll see what happens, I'll keep you posted! Thanks, Tia

Tia, I'm so happy for you! It's nice to see you looking forward to another date! Make sure he knows there are a lot of us who will hunt him down and hide the pieces if he hurts you. I hope you aren't truly getting sick. If you do, hope it's a quick and relatively painless bout. Hope you had a good first part of the week.
Hugs!
Kathy
