Dr. VonReuden leaving GBMC

Got a letter saying he was going to St. Agnes for their  bariatric program by the end of February.    If you want to continue with DVR, you have to request your records be sent to St. Agnes.  I wonder if the GBMC program fee can transfer to St Agnes too? Or can DVR patients attend St. Agnes support groups?   I had my surgery 2 years ago at GBMC- not because of the hospital- but specifically for DVR.   Anyone have the scoop on why he is leaving?

Hey girl! Don't know if anyone has the scoop, although I personally am shocked because he worked so hard to build that practice.  Remember when it was called CHOMP?????  Glad they changed it to COMP!!  I would imagine that not much will change, but maybe give St. Agnes a call.  I think support groups anywhere are basically open to anyone.   Hope all is well!!  Have you spoken to Faye? Support groups are open to everyone :  that was the first question I asked. I don't know why hes leaving but I heard GBMC gave him a hard time about his wanting to leave.

I got the scoop yesterday from Kathie Storm at my fill.  She said St. Agnes is looking to aggressively expand their program and recruited DVR with an offer he couldn't refuse.  She was welling up when she told me.  He and Dr. M are both so loved by their staff.  It's going to be hard for them to see him go.  I just hope that whoever they bring in to "replace" him is just as good.  Don't know if Dr. M is moving up to head the program or if they intend to bring someone in over top of him.

Good to finally see the scoop!  I figured it might be something along the lines of an offer he couldn't refuse.  My paperwork for surgery was submitted on Nov. 14th and I didn't hear back from COMP's office until Jan. 4th that I was approved.  Guess they were delaying notifiying me since it was up in the air.  I decided to switch to Dr. Moein and not follow DVR to St. Agnes.  I'm sure St. Agnes is fine, but I live in Towson and I feel more comfortable knowing GBMC is right around the corner from me should I need to go there for whatever reason.  I'm sure Dr. Moein is a great surgeon and I look forward to my consultation with him tomorrow AM.  Hopefully they'll give me a date tomorrow!!!!  So anxious and tired of waiting!!!
