Feeling my pouch

I had my surgery on Jan.8th.  They also had to fix a bad hiatal hernia.   I got home last Thursday, feel fine, walking everyday, BUT I have a hard time feeling my pouch.  I read alot of posts that after 2-3 bites they are full, I can have my 4 oz. protien pudding  and be comfortable, not full.  no pain anyway, then I drink all day minus the time before and after as instructed.   But will I feel my pouch better when I am off of all liquid and on to soft foods? Not really feeling hungry through the day and I have lost 9 pounds since surgery. What do you think,  do I still need healing time?

First of all, welcome and congrats on your surgery.  Glad everything's going relatively well.  When's the last time you lost 9 pounds in 9 days??????  WOO-HOO!!! Keep in mind that your body is saying, "WTH did you DO to me???"  It's undergone a major trauma and is trying to adjust, as is your head. I am more than 2 years post op and I can honestly say that provided I get my required fluids and protein in, I am NEVER hungry.  Head hunger, now that's another issue.   So yes, you will feel differently as you move through your food phases.  Never fear, it's a great tool and it'll work well as long as you're compliant. Feel free to voice any more questions, concerns, etc.  We're here for ya!!! Tia

I wonder if it is cause of the other surgery they had to do higher up.  That is a good question, so I was not trying to answer with a question.  I wonder if you should try asking your doctor.  Keep us posted and WELCOME! Hugs Kristen

I think when I started eating solid foods. It will fill me real quick. You probably will feel it much more. I always felt it in my chest. And I would be done. But we are all different. I hope this helps alittle.

Like Bonnie, I had most of my fullness in my chest the first few days.  I still don't feel hungry, and almost have to force myself to eat. I will say thought that once I started on solids, I got the "full" feeling.  Congrats on your surgery and your 9 lb loss!
