good morning everybody. i called my surgeon's office yesterday to see if they got a response yet.they told me no. give it a few more days.Or tell me to call uhc to see what the status is. so i call them and they said they never recieved any.  So yaw know my heart stop beating. it took her 20 mintues to pull me up so i already know she doesnt no her job well or she is giving me the run around.so i called the office back and tell the peson who submitted my work what they said. and she reasured that eveything was fax in. so i called uhc back and talk to someone else. She than explains to me it will be a two week hold on all fax cuz there fax machine is down. i almost cried. i never heard of anything crazy like this before in my life. So when i got home from work I got me a glass a wine and took a bath to relax my nerves.  I called uhc back praying to GOD that i wouldnt talk to the same people i did. Just my luck the first girl who i talked to her answers the phone.i hung up on her i dont have the patient right now to deal with her again. i waited 10 minutes and called again and someone diffrent answer the phone. Thank God this person was very helpful.  and he told me they recieved my paperwork on the 9th @ 430 and i still was in pending staus. I explained he about the two prior calls i had. so he gave me a claim number to use the next time i call. But i dont think i can take another week of this.

Aw, honey, take a deep breath (and maybe another small sip of wine!).  Unfortunately, MOST of the people processing our paperwork don't realize how long and hard we've waited and fought for this.  It's their jobs, but our lives. Keep persevering, document the who, what and whens of all of your phone calls, and if necessary, DEMAND to speak to a supervisor!!!  The squeaky wheel and all that! Soon enough, you'll be on the loser's bench, but try not to drive yourself nuts in the meantime.   Post any and all of your concerns.  We're here for you! Tia

Relax!    I know that waiting for approval and a date can be torturous. Take comfort in the fact that you have completed all your pre-surgical requirements, the doctor has submitted the request and the insurance company has received it.  You date is coming soon!

I agree with the other posters.  It is not easy waiting for a response especially when you speak with incompetant people.  Soon you will get your approval and you will be on your way to the loser's bench.  Try to keep busy doing things you love to do and by the way have a few glasses of wine on me!! Keep us posted.

I feel for you, I went through the same thing with my insurance company...two weeks of calling between the insurance company and my surgeon's office before they finally got the paperwork.  Finally they got it and a few days later I wa approved.  So my advice is keep on them, and it will work out.

I can sympathize. I drove everyone here crazy while my paperwork wound up in insurance hell. But, alas, it was all received, and I was approved within hours of them receiving my final documents. Have faith in your surgeons office (something I  learned during this process). They work hard on your behalf to get all the information that your insurance company could possibly ask for. While I think WLS for Dummies is a great resource, now is the time for humor and fantasy. Grab a novel, take a long hot bubble bath and enjoy your last sips of wine for awhile. I know it doesn't seem like it now, but this is DEFINITELY worth the weight. Hugs to you!
Hugs!
