Happy Tuesday!

Hey all - I've been MIA from posting, but I have been lurking, but figured it was time to start my daily posts again.  What's new with everyone?  Hope you all have recovered from the chaos of the holidays and had happy holidays.  Ours were nice but crazy as usual.  I had a lot of time off from work, but still ended up wrapping presents on Christmas Eve!  I think that's just my destiny. Workwise, I was transferred again at the end of November, and can actually say this was a good move.  I love my new job and the people for whom I work.  Now, if I could just get the temp in my office regulated to something slightly below 85 degrees, I'd be a happy girl. I'm attempting to return to night school; I was supposed to meet with an advisor last week, but they had overbooked and now, I'm not sure what I'm going to do.  I need to buy a new computer for home and may explore some online classes.  Not sure yet. Menwise (stop laughing), I've kind of cleaned house of the men who only wanted one thing and had no respect for me.  So I'm alone, but at least I have my dignity. Happy the puppy has proven to be an excellent mouser!  I have an extreme mouse phobia and we've had two.  One somehow sandwiched himself between two traps, and is gone to the Big Cheese in the Sky, but the other one was determined to terrify me and make Happy crazy.  Finally, one night last week, Happy was barking at something under my dresser, and she forced it out, where it landed on a trap.  Another RIP!!  And Happy got a special chewy for that one!!  I know it's an irrational fear, but it's enough to send me into panic attacks!!!  I still say that if I could find a man who would spin in circles and carpet-swim for me when I get home like Happy does, I'd be a lucky girl. Weightwise, well, that's not a happy topic right now.  I'm still on track, having fallen off the wagon somewhat, but I need to get my butt to a gym to get rid of the extra weight from the Depo shots.  I'm now looking toward the end of July to have my combo tummy tuck and hysterectomy.  Not sure what my insurance is going to cover plastics wise, but I need to get my panni issues documented.  For the last 3-6 months, I've been having some serious itching going on in the fold under the panni.  It's nothing visible, but it makes me nuts when I sweat!!!  Not a great place to scratch in public, trust me!!!! Okay everybody, tag, you're it!!  Let me know what's up in your world! Tia

Off to a staff meeting in a minute, but I'll try to catch up later!! Hugs, Mo

Comparison is the thief of joy!

If we spend our time comparing our life/weight loss/body to others, we totally miss what WE have accomplished.   Keep in mind how far you have come and what you can do now that you couldn't do weeks/months/years ago.   I hate the expression " It's all good", but in this case it fits!   Wherever you are in your journey  ... It's ALL good!!!

I'm not afraid of mice, but am afraid of spiders, almost to the point of panic attacks, so I don't think it's at all irrational. Good for Happy! I'm glad that you are enjoying your new job. Now that surgery and the holidays have settled down, I need to use my new computer (Christmas gift) to beef up my resume and get back to doing real work, not in retail, lol. I've wanted to go to Nursing school for so long, but couldn't afford it and live on my own at the same time. So, my plan is to get just about any job in a hospital and let them pay for school. 40 isn't too late for another career, is it?

I'll find out how my weight loss is going in another hour or so when I see Dr. Moein. I think he's going to tell me it's been too fast. I've had a lot of issues lately with nausea, and haven't been eating as much as I should. Things are getting better, and I'm finding new foods all the time that my pouch seems to like.

Anyone have a nearly flavorless protein supplement that they like? I've only found vanilla and chocolate so far...

Hope everyone is having a good week so far!

Hugs!

Hey Kath - You can squish spiders!!  Ever try to catch/squish a mouse???? Oooohhh, you got a new puter!!!!!  As soon as my tax $$ comes in, I'm taking Heather Modi's hubby out shopping.   Hey, 40 is not TOO OLD for anything.  Once I retire from the State in 7 years, I'll be embarking on something new, and I'll be 48.  By all means, grab any opportunity so you never have to play "What if" with yourself - it's a nasty game. I'll be anxiously waiting to hear what Dr. Moe says, so make sure you update us! A nearly flavorless protein supplement?  HAHA!!  Yeah, that's a good one, Kath!!  (Sorry a little far out post-op humor)! Tia
