Another thrift store
I was talking with a lady at church who'd lost 60 lbs on TOPS and we were comparing notes about thrift shops. She told me that Partners in Care has a really nice store on Ritchie Highway. It's at the corner of Ritchie and East-West Boulevard (I guess that's Pasadena or north SP). She said people donate some expensive, classic stuff -- she'd bought Talbots and Ann Taylor clothes there, barely used. She said the sizes vary depending on what's been donated, and she does see larger-size things there occasionally. This might be a good resource for people getting closer to goal!
Hi Edie,
I found Partners in Care when they were still down by White's Road in Severna Park. Over the last few years I've found some wonderful things there. When I got rid of all my BIG stuff I took it there (that was 3 years ago). When I was first going to PIC, they had a room that was devoted to large sizes, but they seem to have gotten away from that, tho I do see larger sizes there some times.
PIC is definitely a great resource for finding clothes for work as well as play as you get closer to goal (or in my case like to shop for bargains any time .. lol).
Hugs, Mo
Comparison is the thief of joy!
If we spend our time comparing our life/weight loss/body to others, we totally miss what WE have accomplished. Keep in mind how far you have come and what you can do now that you couldn't do weeks/months/years ago. I hate the expression " It's all good", but in this case it fits! Wherever you are in your journey ... It's ALL good!!!
Right near the Fort Meade base. You know where dunkin donuts is at Charter Oaks Blvd well not too far from there. I am on Brigadier Blvd. Is that near you?
I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.
Those that mind don't matter, and those that matter don't mind.
