So I am wondering how many of you have issues with the thoughts of food after surgery.  I can't wrap my head around eating some days. Is this because it's all new and will this get better?

I am nearly 15 months out and sometimes can't even allow th eidea of food to cross my mind. Today is a good example. I just am not interested at all.

Hi Dianne, You are so early out it is normal to feel the way you do.  I felt the same way and sometimes I had to force myself to get in the daily requirements because I would be scared to try something new.  Give it some time everything will get so much easier and you will be able to enjoy foods again just not in the same quantities as before.   The first 2 months after surgery was not easy for me.

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.
Those that mind don't matter, and those that matter don't mind.

Thank you Cira,       It is reassuring to look forward and know that one day I will be somewhat normal again! :)  Of course New and Improved normal. LOL!

I am about the same.  I just don't feel like dealing with the issues of eating.  I get so tired of looking at what I can and can not have it drive me nuts, so I don't eat.  BUT on a good note I am liking Jello brand pudding fat free and sugar free and I put my protein power in that.  So on days when I am like that I will eat the pudding and still know that I am getting protein. Hugs Kristen PS: You are doing such a great job

Kristen,        Thank you! That is exactly how I feel. I just don't want to be bothered with it all. I also just get overwhelmed trying to fiqure out what I should eat.

I'm the same way many days. There are times that I just have to force myself to eat. Then there are other times that I am hungry, and doesn't seem like the 1/4 cup of anything is going to fill me up, lol. On the days that I don't feel much like eating, I usually eat cottage cheese. It's always been one of my favorite foods, and it's been my best friend since my surgery. I know I'm going to be told again next week (at my 1 month checkup) that I am losing too fast. It seems to be slowing down, as I am experimenting and finding new foods to eat.  Hopefully my 3 month I'll actually be told I'm doing it right, lol.
Hugs!
