Hey Maryland gang Hope everyone's had a good beginning to 2008.   This is the first 'full' week so it's time to buckle up and get down to business here. I'm still hobbling around with the cane, but doing MUCH better.   Out of screaming pain and just having serious twinges if I step wrong.  Yesterday we went to the Annapolis Mall (I needed to have something done with my glasses at LensCrafters) and I ended up walking the entire mall.  I was slow, and almost got tripped a few times, but I did it.   Maybe not the smartest thing for me to have done, but I needed to get out. Saturday I was out in the air for a couple of hours while we went to see a friend's new 'personal' firetruck.   There's a group of middle-aged men who have some awesome toys ... they have a small (if you can call 5 small) collection of firetrucks.   You know the old adage .. the difference between men and boys is the size of their toys.   We hung out while they put the 100 ft ladders up on the two ladder trucks and hung a HUGE American flag between the ladders.    Mr Mo took a bunch of pictures for them.   I definitely needed a nap when we got home. I can't wait to see the orthopedist on the 16th.   Hopefully, I'll be all healed before then and he will tell me I can go back to the gym and resume life as I know it!!!   Being gimpy is getting OLD quickly. Have a wonderful week. Hugs, Mo

Comparison is the thief of joy!

If we spend our time comparing our life/weight loss/body to others, we totally miss what WE have accomplished.   Keep in mind how far you have come and what you can do now that you couldn't do weeks/months/years ago.   I hate the expression " It's all good", but in this case it fits!   Wherever you are in your journey  ... It's ALL good!!!

Of course, does silly me ease off from the gym.....but NOOOO... but at least i did call a specialist and have an appt next week.  Well that and am not putting any additional stress on it. (push-ups or dips) I've still been working with weights and stuff jus****ching the stuff that i know hurts alot.  ~K

Morning Mo. Sounds like you tested some limits this weekend. The firetrucks sound cool though. I hope that you heel quickly. I know I hated it when my ankle and foot kept me limping. It seemed to take forever to heal. Maybe it took so long because I didn't push my limits.  I fell walking out my door yesterday. I was getting ready to step off my porch and down I went. I didn't lose my entire protein shake. At least it spilled on my purse and lunch bag instead of all over me. I think if I had to change my clothes, I would have just called in at that point. I went to  bed early because my back was killing me last night. It seems to be better this morning.  The baby is growing and growing. He was moved from the NICU into the just grow and get fat nursery over the weekend. I hope to get down to see him this evening. Last weight count was 2 lbs 11 ounces. They moved his feeding tube to his nostril so that he can start to learn to suck a bottle. I expect to hear anyday now that it is time to bring him home. Have a great Tuesday.

Double reply here, since I haven't been on in a few days... Mo, sounds like the knee is coming along.  I wi**** were completly healed, but I'm sure you apprecitate any relief you can get. Hope that by the time you see the ortho doc, it's all better and nothing else is needed. Aime, great news about your grandson! He's coming along so fast, and that is just heartwarming to hear. How is his mom doing? Hopefully she is improving quickly as well!!
Hugs!
