A couple of things, a couple of pictures and a couple of wows loooooong post!
No problem sharing! I'm just not getting enough...
My biggest issue is with not getting enough protein. I'm finding higher protein foods, but not enough to get me 60-80 gr. in a day. My nut said don't use protein bars for the first few months, but if it wasn't for Atkins bars right now, I'd be in trouble. I'm just plugging away looking for a supplement that has decent taste, and lots of protein. I'm finding that most are too sweet, and not the right texture for my taste. I'm frustrated, but just keep plugging away. I just read the book Before and After by Susan Leach who is about 5 years out from her RNY. She recommends several different supplements. I figure I'll order 1 or 2 at a time off the web, and see which ones work. I tried GNC but they didn't have most of them there. The one thing they had that I tried were bullets, and they were so disgusting to me that I almost vomited after just one sip.
I'm also not taking all of the vitamins I was told to. My eating has been a little off since going back to work, and the timing of meals and water and vitamins hasn't totally been in sync yet. Working a retail schedule didn't used to bother me. But, now I'd just love to be able to establish a routine! Although, I'm getting better. I didn't chew the Citracal chew enough several days ago, and it made me throw up for several hours. Since then, I have trouble putting them, and the Viactiv multi that I took at the same time, in my mouth. I did find that Trader Joe's sublingual b-12 is great. I just need to nail down the multi and calcium, and I'll be ok. I am going to try BariatricAdvantage vitamins and see if their texture works better for me than the chewy stuff in Viactiv and Citracal.
Hugs!

Kathy I have to get 123 grams of protein in a day so I am always on the prowl for protein that tastes good. I found something that helps with both protein and fluid. I get the low carb chocolate and regular milk made by Hood. Wal-Mart carries it. Both are low fat. The regular milk has only 3 carbs per 8 ounces and the chocolate has only 5 for the same 8 ounces. When I use the chocolate with any kind of chocolate protein drink it makes it taste so much better. I have the too sweet things going on and for some reason the chocolate milk isn't very sweet. Also, I use the chewable bariatric advantage vitamins. They are not too bad tasting at all and you may find them better then a real chewy kind of a supplement right now. Vitalady.com has a lot of samples you can get at a reasonable price as well and somewhere at the top of either the DS or MD or main board some company was giving free samples of their protein and it was not cost for shipping either. Mine arrived today. Good luck and keep plugging away. You will get there. Hugs.
Hi Jo, You are looking great! Best wishes as the journey continues. Hugs, Mo
Comparison is the thief of joy!
If we spend our time comparing our life/weight loss/body to others, we totally miss what WE have accomplished. Keep in mind how far you have come and what you can do now that you couldn't do weeks/months/years ago. I hate the expression " It's all good", but in this case it fits! Wherever you are in your journey ... It's ALL good!!!
