Hi. I am so late in catching up with everyone but a girls got to work.

Yesterday I had to get blood drawn to follow up with my low potassium levels. I am happy to report they are finally responding to medication and my value is 3.4 with normal beginning at 3.5 so things are tracking in the right direction. But the best part of getting my blood drawn was that I could close the arm rest across my lap! I could never do that before!!

I am 4.5 months out and down 75 pounds since surgery. I have gone from 6X to 3X, from 38W pants to 28W pants, to 1X tank tops for layering, from 36W or 38W tops to 26W tops. My hips don't hurt, I can walk the mall with ease and I am loving being on a 10 pin bowling league. As my weight has gone down and I can move better my scores have gone from an 85 game to a 124 game.

I am learning how to eat and make choices. The holidays-even still living in the hotel and eating out every meal(yes the darn house is not yet done from our flood at Thanksgiving)-was a breeze.

My brother that lives in California says he can hear the 75 pound weightloss reflected in the happiness in my voice.

I am loving life, Grateful to God, to all of you. And now I am ready to say it loud and clear---
                      I LOVE MY DS!!!

Please visit my profile to see my New Years Eve pictures if you have a moment. My Baltimore brother insisted on taking me to Catherines and he picked out and bought me the outfit you see including the jacket and shoes. He was sick of seeing me in too big clothes.

I would also like to say thank you to Mac in Maryland for the 6 bags of clothes and coats she gave me, I have gotten tons of compliments dressed in my (your) smaller size clothes, to Kristen for the 2 coats, my husband says I look unbelievably stylish in the peacoat, and to Sandy (on the DS board)for telling me how to upload the picture she resized for my new avitar.

Its gonna be a great year!!!!

Congrats on the wonderful progress Jo! I'm sure Dr. S will be very happy with  your accomplishments on your next visit, and I'm sure you are very proud! I go for bloodwork this week, and have an appt on the 15th with Dr. Mo. He won't be so proud of the bloodwork, but I'm working on it every day to get my vits and protein up. It's definitely a learning process. Keep up the great work, you're always an inspiration!!!
Hugs!
Kathy
