calories in and out...

I feel your pain and wish I could say something to ease it. There seem to be only two constants so far. The math NEVER adds up and muscle weighs more than fat so as ones muscles become denser during long term exercise it counters the weight loss we are experiencing. This cruel fact is echoed by just about every personal trainer I've ever encountered. I am now doing cardio and fear the increased appetite exercise has brought in the past. I eat until I feel that pressure the full pouch exudes and then stop immediately. So far so good.

I think some of it may just be that typical stall everyone experiences at 4-6 weeks out or so.. Your body is playing catch up. A little bit of that and since your doing strength training you may be gaining muscle which can make the scale quit for a couple days. (( HUGS )) I'm proud of you Di!!

Thanks Misty! I am proud of you too lil sis. ! You have been doing so well lately. How did the clothes exchange go.  Oh and I cut back my strength until I go back to the DR. Later this month. I went back to just doing cardio.

The clothing exchange went really well. Does the Maryland board have them too??? I got some 16/18s in jeans and also some XL work out clothes and stuff! I'm really excited that I'm fitting into most of what I got already. I was in 26/28s that were pretty snug before my surgery sooo I'm doing decent. I'm heading to the gym in a little bit!! I'm gonna try and do 45 mins of cardio this time. I went on Friday and did 30 minutes of keeping my heart rate between 160-180 but it was at 170ish most the time because at 180 I was getting lightheaded!! I have to remember baby steps since I'm pretty new at the gym thing. I'm soo excited. I did a lil bit of strength training for my arms last time because I don't want my bat wings to get bad.

Misty.....just a note of caution....160-170 is a pretty high heart rate to maintain for that long. I'm no expert, but I am a nurse! In order to get the best benefit from cardiovascular exercise, you need to exercise in all the various heart rate zones. If possible, get a session with one of the trainers at your gym. He or she can evaluate your fitness and tell you how to get the most from your workouts without killing yourself! :)
