As I sit here in my Flannel pants, socks, shirt and flannel shirt, I can relate.  I never even owned any flannel pants before - boy how times have changed in just 4 months. Hope to see you on the 16th - I am off now to see if I can see any shooting stars - although I doubt I can stay outside too long. Happy New Year! Ted

Hey Ted, First, I hope things are going well for you and I should be there on the 16th.    I had some great warm coats for observing.   The problem was they were all 5 or 6x.   I figured I should still be able to wear them once I lost the weight.   Wrong.    They were so big that I could not close the gaps around the waist, neck, and wirsts.   The wind just wistled through them.   I did not have enough clothes in my wardrobe to make them fit.   So they went to Goodwill.    I got a good North Face for christmas.   It is a great coat and it fits.    Oh well...off to go look at Mars in the observatory. Enjoy...and Happy New Year to you and yours....

Every morning in Africa , a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning in Africa , a lion wakes up. It knows that it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve. It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle when the sun comes up you'd better be running.

All of the nice warm clothes I bought last year don't fit anymore. So I am still freezing. I live in sweats at home. I keep threatening to wear them to work. Everyone asked me what I wanted for Christmas- I told them tights. More to layer and stay warm in.  I guess cold is the name of the game now.

Hi Dave, I can't wait to show your post to my wife.  I've been saying the exact same thing to her since it has been getting cold. --Eric

Dave, I have to agree with you -- there was nothing in the pre-op literature about losing the insulation.  I'm sitting in the living room with socks on my feet.  I should have purchased a heavier coat -- but I'll make it through this winter by layering.   The thermals I purchased long before the cold snap because very few of my slacks are lined.  I'm still wearing shorts and a tee shirt around the house though and still sleep in said description.  My problem is the cushioning.  When I go to the beauty salon, I have to get up and walk around or if I sit too long any place else for that matter.  So having a big butt had its advantages -- the cushion is also gone --thank God for comfy office chairs at work -- those netted bottom kinds.  We have great leather furniture hear at home so that makes for comfy sitting and I get up regularly because I know I need too. Yep, they forgot to tell us about the cold thing -- guess there are something we have to find out on our own.

LOL...you bring up a great point.    My wife always said I had no butt.   But now that I lost all the weight, I really have NO butt.   Even in cushioned chairs I get uncomfortable in about 10 minutes.    I now understand why all those people bring seat cushions to the stadium.   Those hard seats hurt!  Ahhh...all the things I used to criticize others for are now my troubles as well!    Isn't it nice to be in the majority again? :-) Keep warm!

I have heard of this and I am SO looking forward to it myself.  I am one of those people who is almost always hot and never cold unless outside in the wintery wind and snow.  I look so forward to being able to wear winter and fall clothing without feeling overheated and needing a fan to sleep, a fan at my desk, and air conditioning in the car.  I cannot wait to be cold!:-) by the way where do I get the good smilieys?
