Are there support groups in Howard County?

Hi everyone! I had my surgery at St. Agnes. I know they have a support group, but they meet at the hospital and I live in Savage, just south of Columbia. I plan to attend the meetings, but since the Lapband group meets only once a month, I was wondering if there were any groups a little closer to me that meet more frequently?

Hi - I don't think there are any groups in HC unfortunately.  I'm in Ellicott City.  Maybe someone should start one.

Hi Ladies!  We had started a support group in Carroll County - towards the end of 07 the meetings were sporadic, but I have a meeting set for January 16th. We would love to have you both there! There is a separate thread with directions!

Thanks so much for the invite. However, Westminster is farther for me than Catonsville/Baltimore where St. Agnes is located. Their meeting is also on the 16th!  Is there anything special to starting a support group? If I decided to do that, do I just reserve a place and let people know? Do you plan a topic for each meeting or just go with the flow? Feel free to PM me if answering on the boards doesn't seem appropriate. Thanks!
