Multi Vitamins

Hi everyone! I'm looking for suggestions for chewable multi vitamins. I know Centrum makes one, but I don't like the flavor.  Has anyone tried Viactiv? I bought some, but I'm afraid to try them since they have corn syrup in them. They are only 2 grams of sugar, but I don't know if that would be enough to make me sick. Do the kids vitamins have enough of the essentials for us to take? Hope everyone has a happy, SAFE and HEALTHY new years celebration!
Hugs!

Hi Kathy, My doctor started me on Flintstones while I was still in the hospital.   Now almost 4 years later I'm still doing the Flintstone thing even though I could certainly take a multi now that I could 'swallow'. I take 2 Flintstones per day. Hugs, Mo

Comparison is the thief of joy!

If we spend our time comparing our life/weight loss/body to others, we totally miss what WE have accomplished.   Keep in mind how far you have come and what you can do now that you couldn't do weeks/months/years ago.   I hate the expression " It's all good", but in this case it fits!   Wherever you are in your journey  ... It's ALL good!!!

Hi Kathy, The centrum tastes nasty but that is what I took for the first 4 1/2 month after surgery.  Well actually I did the liquid for a while then changed to chewables and now I take one centrum and one prenatal.   Just a word of caution with the viative vitamin.  The calcium that it contains it is not the calcium we absorb. So you will still have to take the citracal or calcium citrate.    As for the 2 grams of corn syrup I believe you willdo just fine just take it at a time of day where you are not taking in extra sugars.   Have a wonderful healthy and prosperous New Year!

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.

Hey There

Have you tried the liquid centrum? Color is neon yellow, but once you are pat that it is ok...I usually mix it in a fruit juice or protein smoothie.

I do liquid centrum and the taste is really yuck but it goes down easy and it usually doesn't have toooo bad of an after taste. My surgeon recommends her patients to do 3 flinstone complete vitamins a day though.

I use the bariatric advantage chewable vitamins and then work great for me. They come in a couple of flavors. I think they also come liquid but the chewables are more convenient.  The are low in sugar and carbs because they are made specifically for bariatric patients.

Hi Kathy, I also hated the regular Centrum chewables.  During my visit with Dr. Moein in October, I asked him about the Centrum Silver (age 50+) chewables.  I'm only 31, but I didn't think it'd be a problem, but I figured I'd ask.  They come in a Citrus Berry flavor that is much, much better than the citrus/orange that the orginial come in.  He said that they are fine to take, just more of a few things that sure can't hurt.  You might want to try them.   Good luck! Hi Kathy...DVR told me just yesterday that I need to stop the Flintstone vitamins and start taking an adult vitamin. I got the liquid Centrum. Just started it today and it was not bad. It went down pretty easy. I think it is a little expensive but I do not like the chewables at all.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I'm going to look at Bariatricedge.com and probably try one or more of their flavors. Anything citrus doesn't go down well for me. Plus, since I was a toddler, liquid medicine doesn't go down well, which is why I didn't succeed with the liquid Centrum. Gail, I have a just about whole bottle (less than a teaspoon missing) if you PM me your address, I'm happy to send it. I am going to try the Viactiv. I have Citracal chews for the calcium part, so I'll be ok for that. I will do the Viactiv multi with a meal or snack so it is easier on my stomach, hopefully I'll be ok. I have to go for bloodwork this week, and I know my vit levels will be very low, and Dr. Moein won't be happy with me.  I'M LEARNING. Thanks again ALL, and a very happy new year to you all!
Hugs!
