My first WOW!!!

So before this surgery, I was wearing a 3 or 4x in shirts, and a 26-28 in jeans and skirts. On a rare occasion I could squeeze into a largely cut 24. Well  today, I needed to get some stuff for DH and I to celebrate the New Year. I decided I would get a new outfit for the night. Well to my great surprise everything was too big. I ended up getting a 2x top, and a size 22 jeans. I also got a pair of 18-20 elastic waste pants, THEY WERE LOOSE!!! I was afraid to go any smaller cause I didn't want to ruin the moment. BUT WOW! It has only been a month.  I really needed this, as the last few days I have really been wondering if I made the right decision. I truely do miss so many things. I don't think I realized how important food was to me. I had just told DH the biggest thing I miss is a mouthful of food that is rich and TASTEFUL. I feel like I am nibbling and I am so tired of the same things.  I told him, I would do anything for a trip to the chinese buffet for some general chicken! I came home from walmart and proudly told him, I will happily nibble tonight!

Those moments are so great!!!  Congrats and enjoy your evening out. Hugs, Mo

Comparison is the thief of joy!

If we spend our time comparing our life/weight loss/body to others, we totally miss what WE have accomplished.   Keep in mind how far you have come and what you can do now that you couldn't do weeks/months/years ago.   I hate the expression " It's all good", but in this case it fits!   Wherever you are in your journey  ... It's ALL good!!!

Congratulations. Those moments make up for a lot of the changes we need to make. There will be lots more.

Congrats Dee!  I too have been missing CHEWING, lol. Not so much any certain food, but the sensation of eating, rather than sipping or nibbling. It doesn't help that I had a pretty serious case of the foamies the other night because I didn't chew my calcium chew enough and it got stuck. So, I can relate to wanting that generals chicken (or anything that resembles real food).  I did have a pickle last weekend. I took the tiniest of bites, but it tasted like heaven. I wish they could find a way to put protein in them, I'd have it made, lol. Pre-op, I was also wearing a size 24 (when it was generously cut) top, and somehow could easily get into 22 jeans, even at 300 pounds and only 5'4". Since, I haven't changed much in tops, except that they all fit nicely, including my 2x t-shirts that I previously had to stretch to near oblivion before putting them on. But, I found an old pair of sz. 18 stretch Levis, and they fit. They aren't loose, but they aren't tight either.  All of my work pants (khakis) are getting so loose that I can put most on and off without unbuttoning them. Might be time for new ones soon!  Will be scheduling a trip to Goodwill soon, since I don't plan on buying new pants every month, lol. I can deal with their prices though, and can donate while I'm at it.
Hugs!

Congrats Di.. It feels so good doesn't it??? I think we all struggle with the missing certain foods. I can assure you the general tso's chicken doesn't taste near as good post op as it did preop. Certainly not the first or second time!!!! Love ya
