Thanks Aime,   I'm actually in the office as I type this.   Made my breakfast shake and my lunch and hobbled out to the drive way to wait for my ride.   It was a challenge to get into the building, but I'm getting better with the cane.   I'll only do what I absolutely have to do today, and stay off the leg the rest of the time. Hugs, Mo

So sorry to hear about your leg Mo.  Hopefully the tear will heal quickly and you be back at the gym, sans crutches, in no time.  Just be good to yourself.  Sometimes our bodies have ways to tell us to slow down.  I only wi**** hadn't been such a painful way of talking to you.  I am sure you are a good listener.    Hang in there.  I hope today goes well and that you are able to get help getting around.   Hugs, Robin

Thanks Robin!    I probably over did it at work today and I'll be sorry for tomorrow, but I really needed to be there.   As it turned out, I was busy making calls and getting some last minute details together.    I'm now home and on the sofa in my sweats and I'm likely to be here (other than trips to the potty) for the next 24 hours until I go upstairs tomorrow night to shower and wash my hair for work on Wed.   Lefty and I will be sleeping on the sofa again tonight.  Dang cat .. he won't sleep on the bed with me, but when I'm on the sofa where there's NO room for him, he sleeps in the middle of my chest . Hugs, Mo

So sorry to hear of the accident.  I can relate to the pain because I, too had a torn muscle in my right shoulder  years ago and just kept my arm still and it healed over time. It realllly cut my activities short.  It was an experience I never want to do again and I  know you feel the same way, too. Hope you feel better soon. Hang in there, this too, shall pass. Gloria.

Thank you Gloria.   I've had a couple of bursitis attacks in my shoulder and that is a pain that I never want to repeat either!!  I think that is almost worse than the leg thing.  I know this will heal.   I have an appointment with the orthopedic doc on Jan 16.  By then I'll probably be all healed up!!! but that was the first opening. Hugs, Mo

Poor Mo.  It is no fun.  I fell a few years ago (bending over to pick up a piece of paper) and sprained my shoulder and leg.  Came home with a sling, leg brace and crutches.  It was not pretty.   This too shall pass - As it did for me, so it will for you.  Just take it easy and listen to your doctor. Happy New Year.  Take care of yourself.

thanks April!    The tough thing is that I can be perfectly content to be a couch potato until you tell me I HAVE to be .. then I get antsy!!!   It's 5:30 a.m. on New Years morning and I've already been up to start my coffee, but other than trips to refill my mug (it's a BIG one) and then the requisite potty stops after coffee .. I'll be stationary for the day. Hugs, Mo

Hi Ellie, I've mastered hobbling around with the cane pretty well.   I get going at a good clip and then step wrong and get a reminder that I'm not in the best shape.    The pain is more a severe twinge now when I step wrong or twist/flex the foot or leg rather than the screaming pain it was in the beginning. I don't see the orthopedist until January 16 (I'm sooooo glad I not totally immobile here or I'd be crazy), and by then I may be healed, tho I may still be needing some sort of PT. I am trying to take it easy in the office, tho the nature of my job has me up and about a lot and around the building. Hugs, Mo

Mo I actually got my lazy butt out of bed early yesterday and today to get on the treadmill and all your early gym stories flooded into my head.  I dont know how you did it....I slept in my workout clothes the first nite heheheh so sorry to hear about your tear...take it easy, they take a bit to heal & also  be extra careful what you eat & keep your water intake up....I wouldnt want youo having to get up any earlier than you do to work off a few extra injury pounds :-) Good luck  & thanks for the inspiration Diana RNY 9/17/03 Dr roe 360/196/forever aiming at 180
