I ate the wrong thing, and made myself sick. This is absolutely the first time I have even have so much as a bit of nausea.  I ate fried tofu, looking for a protein boost.  I'm not getting near enough protein!  But, I didn't chew enough and I paid a price for it.  Luckily, it only took a few hours to pass.

Aww, Kathy!  Sorry to hear that.  I had my worst episode yet with fried fish, so I haven't had anything fried since that day!   Have you tried any of the protein powders?  I wasn't a big fan, but for about 2 months now, I've been purchasing the Body Fortress Whey Protein from Walmart.  It comes in Vanilla or Chocolate.  I prepare shakes every other morning with frozen strawberries, 1/2 frozen banana, splenda, vanilla soy milk and the powder.  It tastes like a milkshake and I got a nice boost of protein.

I have the vanilla Body Fortress. What I need to do is find mix-ins that I like. On it's own, it is too sweet for my taste. I will try the strawberry banana idea, that sounds pretty good. I also figured I would try to put ice in it and give it more of a milkshake consistency, and dilute it a bit.  Someone today suggested all the spices that they put in chai tea, since I like that so much.  I'm going to keep trying concoctions till I get it.  I haven't found another protein supplement that I like, so I have to make the best of it. Thanks for the suggestion!! And, I am going to refrain from fried stuff for awhile. I actually didn't know it was fried when I ordered it.  I just knew when I put it in my mouth it was a bad idea, lol. I should listen to my head more.
Hugs!

Hey Kathy, I feel your pain and its no fun. What protein supps are you using? I can recommend some good ones and with skim or 1% milk they are all under 200 calories.  Mark

I would LOVE some recommendations! The only thing I have tolerated well has been Body Fortress. It's pretty good, but it's SO sweet. I did try bullets, but can't take the flavor/texture, so it won't work to slow sip them. If I was a body builder who could slam them, I'm sure they'd go down pretty easily. Thank you Taya, Mark and Sandi for the empathy.  Some lessons are tougher to learn, but luckily, I'm trainable, lol.  I do feel better today, and I even ate steamed tofu at lunch (in Miso soup).

Sorry to hear that Kathy.  Although I can't say it's happened to me yet, from what I've heard, it's horrible.

Ohh Kathy- Glad to hear you are feeling better. Let me just say that I tried a scrambled egg on Wednesday, well it totally upset my pouch. I was no good the rest of the day. Everything I ate came right back. It will be a LONG time before I try eggs again.

Sorry to hear that. Thank goodness, scrambled eggs were one fo the first pureed thing I ate, and it was very good. I used a lot of cheese, and extra milk and I like my eggs very soft anyhow. Hopefully, you won't have a long lasting bad memory of them.
Hugs!

Hi Kathy, Fried foods do most of us in so I stay away from them even almost 2 years out.  I get bad diarreah from anything fried - and thats if I don't toss it back up because it hurts my pouch so much.  Anyway, I get my protein in with hot chocolate.  I buy mine from the website below.  They are great people there and will send you free samples of stuff.   I do not like the oatmeal but the soups aren't bad.  I like several of their protein bars - toffee is really good and the peanutbutter ones are also good.  I honestly haven't tried much else but the hot chocolate keeps me going so I buy that all the time.  12-15 gr. of protein per package.  I add a little flavored sugar free non dairy creamer to some of them.  Maybe you can find something you want to try.  If you go to the store in Woodbridge, VA (not that far away) you will get tons of free samples.  The group there wants you to like what you buy so they are very generous with their samples.  The only down fall is the hours.  They are not open on weekends so I have never been to the store.  They have come to several of our support group meetings and bring recipes for us to try made with their products.  Give them a try. www.MyDietShopz.com  Hugs, Robin
