I was just told that DVR will be leaving gbmc. I have not had my surgery yet because he could not complete my RNY so now i am in the middle of getting approval for the gastric sleeve when i called to check on the status this is what i was told, but was given no details. I was told a nurse would contact me . anyone know anything about this.

Hi Angie, Good luck in your journey to have your surgery.  I had not heard anything about DVR leaving.  Perhaps someone who has a close relationship with the office (Tia comes to mind), might know more. Taya

He is going to St. Agness in February!! He will offer to let his patients follow him if they want. I found out last week.  I don't about know your surgery you will have to call and talk to him personally to see what the plan would be for you.   I definitely suggest you discuss it directly with him so you can get a straight answer. Best wishes in your journey!

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.

I had heard it was a possibility: and frankly I am a bit upset. I like the rest of the staff at GBMC and its close to my home. I also love the support group.  I don't know what I am going to do. This is a real mess. However :  whatever I decide   DVR is a great surgeoon and  i thank him for what he did  for me. Darla

I am upset too! I do not think I will travel to St. Agnes. I hope someone takes the place of his wife for the support groups. Does anyone know when he will be leaving and if he is planning on sending out notices. I have an appt. on 1/2.

I'm sorry to see the practice change, but unless Dr. Moein decides to make a move, it won't affect me. For those of you who have not received care from him at one point or another would not be disappointed. He's a little on the quiet side, but he's a wonderful surgeon, and weight loss partner.
Hugs!

I saw Dr. Von Rueden this past Wed. and he told me the news of his departure from GBMC at the end of Feb.  He is going to St. Agnes, and he cannot fit any more surgery patients into his schedule before he goes there.  I was not expedting that.  I had to make a decision to either wait, and see him at St. Agnes in April, or switch surgeons.  I have decided to switch to Dr. Moenomolki and stay with the GBMC program.  I was just about to get scheduled when this happened, and I don't want to wait 4 more months.  Can any of you tell me what you like about Dr. Moenomolki at GBMC?  I understand he takes a lot of time with his patients, as I had to schedule an hour with him for my appt. with hime next week.   Also, I want to thank all of you who have the guts to post your before and after photos on this site.  I really get hopeful about my own weight loss when I see the success others have experienced.

I would highly recommend Dr. Moein. I saw him several times during my 48 hours in the hospital. He came in and talked to me during pre-op, he put the leg contraptions (to prevent blood clots, they massage your legs, they are very nice) on in the OR while he explained other things to me. He came and saw me in recovery, and called my parents to let them know surgery went well. He came up to my room before he left for the evening. He saw me at least three times the next day, the first time while I was in radiology and then again in my room, then came up before he left for the evening. He came in before I was discharged and reminded me what I needed to do, to sip water, walk, and when to start which meds and vits. I believe Dr. VR to be a wonderful surgeon as well, but I'm very happy about my choice of Dr. Moein. As he gets to know you, he definitely warms up.  He is quiet at first, and a little hard to read. He is very down to business. I will tell you that I healed so quickly it blew my mind. I was up and out of the house for at least a couple of hours every day after I went home. I returned to work 12 days post-op. I never even filled my pain medication script. I can barely see any incisions, and wouldn't even really notice them if they didn't itch a little from healing. If you have any particular questions about Dr. Moein, feel free to post them or PM me.
Hugs!

Kathy,  Thanks for putting my mind at ease about changing surgeons.  I like what you said about Dr. Moeinomolki and I feel a lot better after reading your post.  ~Jennifer
