Mom and baby update from Grandma Aime
Both mom and baby are doing well. I went to see them yesterday. N was still intubated when I arrived. She was stable, but they were waiting for her breathing to improve. She was awake and asking (writing) questions. I brought her a picture of the abby as she hadn't seen him yet. The nurses taped it on her bed for her to look at. While she napped, I went to see my grandson. He is such a fighter. He had been extubated and was breathing on his own. The nurse was taking his vitals when I was there. I got to take his temperature. He didn't like anyone messing with him. He moved around as the nurse was listening to his heart and lungs and changing his diaper. I thought he would flip himself over. They did put him under the bili lights as I left for jaundice. I have picutres of him looking like a beach bum.
I went back to tell N how the baby was doing and they had extubated her. She still was receiving oxygen, but was able to speak quietly. I told her that the nurse from the NICU said she would try to bring the baby down to her today so she could see him.
My son called me about 1:30 AM to tell me all about the time he spent with his son and N last night. He is so happy and doing so well in all of this. I am proud of all 3 of them. I want to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers. We aren't out of the woods yet by a long shot, but we are seeing alight at the end of the tunnel.
