Birth Control
I was on depo for over ten years....(yeah i know bad decision but hey it worked)
About three months after surgery ...my surgeon said that's what probably was slowing my weight loss so i stopped it.
In July i got a regular IUD..(not mirena) mainly because my gyno was afraid the hormones in the mirena would make me as hungry as i was on the depo..
I am all about the no additional hormones (got enough of them right now with the weight loss as it is)
So far IUD has been ok...
BOY that didn't tickle though when they placed it....
I think I am going to try to patch as well. Working in OBGYN I can get samples and try this out. I just work about any weight gain. This weight loss makes you feel good and look good and damn with the sex. This is nuts! I NEED birth control. It is silly to me that I went throught 5 years of infertility to get Gabriella and was pregnant on my own AFTER lossing 40 pounds. SOOOO I know that I need something. I would love another baby (bitting my tounge) BUT I am 36 and have one kidney and not sure it would work out this time. So I think the patch. I took that ring out, I am done with that and still bleeding to death! Wish me well and luck to everyone else. On another note I do hear that the IUD is good but you can have some nasty periods. Food for thought.

This is very frustrating. I had been on the pill for years, and post op changed to the ring because of mal-absorbtion. I have only been using the ring for 2 months now, my first period with it was lighter than usual, guess we'll see how it goes in another 2 weeks. But I hate the logistics of the ring during "extra curricular activities" - now that I have lost weight and contort just so, (DOH, did I say that out loud), it is kind of annoying to have it come out....
