Actigall
For those of you who have been prescribed Actigall, do you use the brand name, or generic Ursodiol, and why?
After my Rx plan refused the Previcid, I decided to look up the Actigall ahead of time, so I can be prepared when I go in tomorrow and ask for the prescription. They will pay for generic, and after Googling it, it appears to be basically the same med.
I laughed when I picked up my prescription that replaced the Previcid. It was for Famotidine 20mg. Same as the Max. Strength Pepcid AC sitting in my medicine cabinet. The beauty of it all is that Walmart charges $4 for a months supply and that is a lot cheaper than the best price I could find for OTC Pepcid or even a generic version.

Hi Kathy,
Carefirst always goes with the generic if it is an option, so I follow unless the PCP has an opinion. I had trouble finding the Actigall- Walgreens finally came through with it. It is the nastiest tasting though. Tried hiding it in everything. If there was one drug I resisted this was it. Still have alot of Previcid if you want it. Fortunate to not have any indigestion issues.
Hope you are feeling well. See you at the next group meeting. I hear they will be in the Physicians Pavillion conference center now.

Hi Mark,
Superfresh is going to order the generic Actigal for me. They said it would be in today. Hopefully they won't have trouble ordering it. There is a Walgreens, but it's not close to me. I guess I could do mail order. My insurance company tries to get everyone to do that anyhow.
Thanks for the offer for Previcid. I got the replacement script and had it filled. I have no indigestion either. I've had smooth sailing when it comes to all of my liquid foods I have tried, thankfully. But, I'm taking the meds as the Dr. said, to prevent ulcers. I don't know that I will do the whole 6 months, but I'm going to start out on the right foot, lol.
Hugs!
