So no one told me that doing this would cause a monthly visitor to return. I am really done with her and she can go away now.

Oh Yeah the estrogen we store in our fat cells is being released quickly and your cycle will come. Mine got shorter and I had an oooops 3 months post op from my RNY.  I am now 26 weeks pregnant at 9 month post op.   baby

RFOL!!  I was irregular for years.  Since WLS, I've been having them every 2 weeks.  Making up for lost time, I guess, LOL!

Yep, she's back.  I suffer from PCOS and even while on Metformin to try to regulate the insulin and cause a regular cycle, I still didn't have one.   One month after surgery, she arrived.  And she's been coming every 36-40 days since.  Whoa!

Man- I was afraid you all were going to say that. I have only had maybe 10-15 my whole life. We even did fertility treatments, because of the PCOS- I don't do this. And seriously I hope that this is a fluke and she doesn't come again. Sounds like I might be wishful hoping though.

Well, girl wishing you all the best.   You should check out the pregnancy post op board just to see how many women couldn't conceive or was not menstruating before WLS and are having or have had babies.  You might get surprised one day if you are not super careful.

I just had this talk with my GYN and she sent me for hormone tests.  She said my loss so far could very definitely lead to pregnancy if I wasn't careful. I have PCOS, but managed to get pregnant at 41.   Unfortunately, in some people, PCOS lets you get pregnant, but causes an early miscarriage.  That was me. At 50, I do not want to be pregnant.  Besides the age-related risks, I have a bunch of huge fibroids that would cause problems.  My GYN agreed and said we figure something out if it looked like my hormones were in range. None of this is to say that I wouldn't love to have a sister or brother for Madeline.  She dislikes being an only child so much that she refers to the dog as her little brother.  The fibroids could cause real problems, though. My secret fantasy is to get a windfall and apply for a pre-ID'd kid in China. I'm getting near the maximum BMI now.  The cutoff age is 55 for older kids, but I'd need to come up with about $25,000 real fast, LOL Edie
