It's hard to believe it has been a whole year since I had my surgery and it's been quite some year.  I have lost 133 pounds, 3 pounds from the surgeons goal 8 pounds from mine and I was told it is probably skin, I no longer inject insulin I went from 9 medications down to 3, went from a size 26-28 to a size 12.  I went from hardly being able to walk to going to the gym 4 days a week, I jog on the the weekend (yes I did say jog) and I play tennis on Saturday for a few hours and I have asked Santa for a bike for Christmas.  I thank God everyday for my new life and I take nothing for granted and continue to work hard at making my health a number one priority (I never want to go back), I have been complication free and have always had perfect labs by Gods grace I am so truely blessed.  At a year I do have my appitite back and can eat much more and I now know that I do not dump on sweets though wine and ice cream are not my friends so I try to be consious of everything I put into my mouth and meat is still not my friend.  All in all everything is wonderful and I am now moving on to the second part of my journey and am having a LBL scheduled for January 10th I am very excited but also very scared so keep me in your prayers.  Just wanted to give you all an update and say thank you for all of your support on this site and I wish all of you a Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year!! Stephanie

Steph, You are awesome!   Best wishes as the journey continues. Hugs, Mo

Comparison is the thief of joy!

If we spend our time comparing our life/weight loss/body to others, we totally miss what WE have accomplished.   Keep in mind how far you have come and what you can do now that you couldn't do weeks/months/years ago.   I hate the expression " It's all good", but in this case it fits!   Wherever you are in your journey  ... It's ALL good!!!

I remember you even when I was not still a member of OH and more of a lurker and hadn't yet gotten seriously involved in the WLS process, even then your posts and mo's plus a few others' were a reminder that I can do this.  Good luck, Ellie
