Question for y'all reguarding surgeons..
If and when I talk hubby into moving to Maryland (I really miss it) do y'all think I will have a hard time finding a bariatric surgeon to take over my case? I'm thinking like maybe next summer so I may be about 1 year out but I have had so many issues and all that I'm worried that I won't be able to find someone to take over my care? Have any of you moved and had issues with that ?
I think it wouldn't be a big deal if you had your surgery in the US. I have heard of US surgeons not doing fills for patients whose lapbands were placed in other countries, but people move from one state to another all the time. Shouldn't be a barrier for you. Some surgeons are, of course, going to be busier than others and might not be able to take patients for follow-on care, but it's likely you'll find someone.

Thanks y'all! I did have surgery here in Indiana (heh not quite another country but I wonder sometimes heh). I feel a little better now because I had talked to someone *****located to Missouri or something and couldn't find someone to do her aftercare (but she was on her second pregnancy and her first occured at only like 5 months post op) so I don't know if that had anything to do with it.
Misty,
I am not sure where in Maryland you would move to, however my own surgeon accepts all lap and RNY patients from other surgeons in his support group as well as office visits. He is located in Montgomery county though. His website is :
advancedWLS.com
You can also ask other surgeon's offices that are closer to your future locations
Good luck
