Happy Tuesday!
Good Morning Everyone!!! It has been a long time. Seems like that last few weeks have been a blur. My life is spent at work or the hospital.
My Thanksgiving was quiet mostly. I drove to Hagerstown to meet up with my family for dinner. We decided to let someone else have the stress and went to a buffet for dinner. It was nice and relaxing. The food was good. There was so much. I had a few items on my plate and couldn't come near to finishing it. In fact, I had to walk around the outside for a few minutes to clear the over full pain. Maybe it was the turkey everyone says doesn't agree with them now. After dinner, we went to my sister's house for pie. I had a small taste. Then I drove back home for a nice quiet evening.
I have had a crafting fever lately. I guess making the afghan for the baby got it started. I am working on a needlepoint stocking I started years ago now. I had gotten out of the habit due to poor eyes and old hands. Since I have had all of those things "fixed", I am back at it again.
I loved having 4 days off from work. I also didn't run to the hopsital every day. My youngest and I went to the computer show at the fairgrounds. We also stopped into see the Festival of Trees. Someone had given me 2 tickets. It loved it. I had never gone before. It was great. I will go again next year.
Have a great week everyone!

Amy -
You are a woman after my own heart as far as going out for Thanksgiving - I would KILL to do that!! In fact, one year, my poor Dad was in the hospital and Mom was getting ready for surgery, so we went to Cracker Barrel. In addition to being good food, I didn't have to prepare or clean up a thing!!! I am so all for pizza for Christmas, but everyone thinks I'm being a Scrooge, so it'll be a repeat of Thanksgiving!!!
I've been wondering what's happening with your DIL and grandbaby. Be sure to keep us updated and I'll keep them (and you) in my prayers.

N is hanging in there. She had her pic-line replaced yesterday and that has caused her some discomfort. We had a scare over the weekend in that she was running a fever. They said they were going to deliver her. They decided to do an amniocentesis first to see if her infection was related to the baby. Luckily, it wasn't. They changed their minds. Then they realized it was her pic-line.
Once they removed that she started to drop her temperature.
She related to me that a recent sonogram showed my grandson happily sucking on his toes. He is growing well. I just pray she remains stable until they finally deliver her around 34 weeks now.

Hi Tia,
I have been MIA from the site too. Work is so busy these days that I just don't hav time to get on the site and chat. I haven't even had time to read posts. And after work I am on the run and don't get home from errands n such until I am so tired that I avoid the computer there. I am so out of touch with my friends and family that don't live here. I never feel I have the time or energy for phone calls. I should try to get better at sending them cards or something just to keep in touch.
You have had some really busy time too! I hope that NYC is a lot of fun. I have never been except to drive through on the GW bridge. I want to go up there to site see. We were going to take Stephanie for her birthday but I wasn't quite recovered from my PS that I just didn't feel I could handle the ride there, all the walking and such. And of course right now i don't have the time to go up there. Hopefully we will find time in the spring to take her for a few days.
Hearing about your Happy reminds me that I didn't tell you we got another dog too. She is a Golden Retriever/Boxer mix. I think she was an accident. :) She is almost 4 months old and VERY active. She loves to fetch stuff, even things we don't want her to go fetch. LOL. She also loves to jump and run. She eats a ton and is getting so big. We are having a tough time getting her fully house broken but we keep working on it. Once that is done I think she will be just about perfect for us. But right now its frustrating dealing with all of the accidents. She only has about 2 a day but still, my carpet is a mess. Its only in one room so that's good but its in the dining room so that is really bad. I am going to clean the carpets this weekend so maybe that'll help. We are trying to teach her to ring a bell haning on the door when she wants to go out. I read that retrievers take to this very well. So far she isn't catching on. :) But its only been about a week so hopefully soon. The trouble is she doesn't give us any sign she needs to go out. The only thing I can pick up on is her pestering us but that isn't always a sure thing because she pesters us all the time. She is playing fetch on minute and the very next we smell her poo or step in her pee. No pacing back and forth or any kind of "looking for a spot" type of behavior. She has at times bugged me relentlessly but she does that when she wants food, water or to play or have her belly rubbed. So I just don't know. Oh, her name is Roxy.
Well, besides that and our never ending busyness, things are going very well. We are enjoying the house although we still have lots of little things to do. I'll have to get pics up soon of the girls bathroom. I did it all myself and am very please with how it turned out. I have 3 more bathrooms to do, the kitchen to finish and touch up painting. I also want to re-do the doors in the house but that will probably be next summer before I get to that one.
Take care! Enjoy NYC. We won't be joinig y'all at the dinner theater this year. The girls are busy that day so we are going to the next weekends show. Its a new tradition for us to go so we are pretty excited.
Hugs, Robin

272/150 down 122 lbs!!! WOW!!
Hey Rob -
Okay, so now I need a nap after reading about all you have going on!!!
Awww, congrats on Roxy!! She sounds like a love!! Fortunately, Happy was pretty much housebroken when we got her. She's had a couple little accidents, and piddles when she gets excited, but for the most part, it's good. When we had first gotten Molly, she wasn't housebroken, so I bought a book that said to take them out immediately after they drink and 1/2 hour after they eat. We did that, and within two weeks, we had success. If you haven't tried that, it might be worth a shot. Man, there is nothing like the constant smell of dog!! ICK!!
I know it's hard to keep in touch, I think everyone understands how busy we all are. I'm sorry we won't be seeing you at the dinner theatre, I haven't seen you in SO long!! Maybe we can get together after the holidays!
I'll give you a shout when we get back from NYC, I want to see your new house!!!
Take care,
Tia
