OT - Zoo pictures

Happy day after Turkey day!!!! We spent about 4 hours walking around the National Zoo yesterday with my sister and her family. It's a tradition that was started when my nephew was a year old. We got started about the time he was 2 but have missed the last 4 years .... he's 14 now and I think it's a fun thing to do. The weather was gorgeous and the place was pretty packed .. probably because of the nice weather .. Lots of pictures ... flamingos and turtles mostly ..

Comparison is the thief of joy!

If we spend our time comparing our life/weight loss/body to others, we totally miss what WE have accomplished. Keep in mind how far you have come and what you can do now that you couldn't do weeks/months/years ago. I hate the expression " It's all good", but in this case it fits! Wherever you are in your journey ... It's ALL good!!!

I had fixed a small turkey breast on Wednesday so it would be ready for us on Thursday, so when Mr Mo and I got back we had a turkey dinner. I'm not sure what Eye, Len & Charles did, we went our separate ways when we left the zoo. I think they were going to eat on the way home. They were having a Thanksgiving to-do today with her inlows (or outlaws as the case may be). Hugs, Mo

Oh ok!! Well, Thanks to your turtle pictures now my son is begging for a turtle. He tells me Mommy can I have a turtle please just one turtle and that's it!! LOL Too funny! Glad you had a turkey dinner with hubby. Hugs,

There were definitely a LOT of turtles at the Zoo .. many more than I've seen before, especially out there in the pond by the waterfall. This year it seemed to be the birds and reptiles that were lively .. other years it's been the lions and tigers and .. no bears . but .. lol .. The elephants and giraffes seemed to be away while they are working on the new exhibit area .. so I guess we will see that next year. Hugs, Mo

I as just telling someone last night about the National Zoo. She had mentioned wanting to take her eldest son to the Washington Monument. She wasn't aware that all of the Smithsonian Museums are free. I guess I'm going to have to plan a trip down soon.

The zoo is free .. but the parking will get ya!!! We 'maxed' out the parking fee and it was $16 for us to park for 4 1/2 hours. It still beats paying $15 each to go to the Baltimore Zoo and I think in general it's a much nicer zoo. Hugs, Mo
