Bad Day....

I had Lap RNY Friday morning.  I was discharged home Sunday, feeling pretty good.  Had an ok day yesterday - got in almost all my water and most of the recommended food - with barely a belch.  Today - not so much.  Everything, from yogurt to water, is making me gurgle.....it's making me crazy!  Is it normal to go back and forth like that?

Yes it is normal.  But I wasn't given the clear to have yogurt until after 1 week post op. I was on liquids. sugar free popsicles, liquid protein, chicken broth, caffeine free tea and water.   stuff like that.    Try to take it easy and remember to sip slowly and whatever your eat do it very slowly.  I had some good days and then some bad days. It is a bit of a challenge the first month I'll tell ya! But it will be all worth it at the very end. Best wishes!

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.

If you haven't heard it by now, the "everyone is different" phrase will likely be burned into your psyche soon. I'm with Cira on the dairy and yogurt in many forms has lots of sugar. I wasn't allowed anything but clear liquids the first week, then a gradual change to full liquids over two weeks with solids being introduced in the 4th week. I have been lucky with only one episode, but every day my stomach has to "wake up" when I introduce food.  Mark

I'm a year out and still fluctuate. Sip- take it slow. You can't expect to get it all in right after surgery. Let youself heal.
