Thank you all for the encouragements and prayers, I contacted the Dr.s office twice yesterday and emailed the insurance coordinator, she is very efficient but like any other bariatric office overwhelmed with volume of patients and paperwork. She said she will go ahead and submit it to the insurance however she discouraged me against calling insurance company after holiday and asking for the review result.  She also mentioned she wasn't sure even if I get approved they can fit me for a surgery before new year, I really hope it will happen since I have gone through everything and all this time. Whatever happens, I have done my part, if G-d wants it to happen, it will, so at this moment I am not debating what would happen if I don't get approved. I just want to thank G-d and enjoy this holiday weekend with my beautiful children and wonderful silly DH. Again thank you all for listening to my vents, only you would understand all the ups and downs of this journey the same way I do, I hope all have a wonderful thanksgiving holiday Ellie

Ellie, I'll sure keep you in my thoughts!! Just one additional question, and I'm not trying to pry into any personal information. Do you have the option of paying for COBRA on your old policy for a month or two? Like I said, not trying to get into personal information about whether it fits into your budget or not. Just wondering if it's a long shot possibility. I know you would quailfy if you were leaving the job, but wasn';t sure if the COBRA laws covered changing insurance carriers. Also, what about the law in MD that requires insurance companies to cover WLS? Does that not extend to the lapband?
Hugs!

Kathy, Thank you for all the encouragement and prayers, it means a lot to me as I am sure you of all the people know what this process is. Unfortunately my husband's company is switching the insurance and since it is a huge company nationwide (actually I believe global) they have set their own policy. I asked it from Dr. Greene and he said if the insurance is not from Maryland , they can do that. Right now they cover it, however after New Year, they have excluded all surgical coverage options from plan policy! I just enrolled in my own job's insurance as secondary insurance to be on the safe side, I know even for that we require to go through a medical clarification letter being sent form the previous insurance and all, however to tell you the truth, I don't even want to think that far. I try not to be too optimistic since I haven't finished the 6 month pre-diet, but on the other hand I think about it as I have done whatever I can, if it is meant to be, it will be, if not, hopefully I will try a couple of months from now with my own insurance company or appeal. Ellie
