I have a great doctor and I great Insurance and have had no problems getting anything approved. My Boss is wonderful and very supportive and I'm very blessed. So why am I so scared to go thu with this?? I'm set for the lap band on December 3rd and hope that some of the members that have already done this can tell me it is all worth it, I have done a lot of research and so has my husband, By the way he is also awesome so what is wrong with me ???? Does any one have any advice or regrets?

Looks to me like you are at that 2 weeks before I completely change my life terrified point. I did that as well. I was convinved I couldn't do it. 13 months later I am 90 lbs lighter, diabetes is resolved, no more sleep apnea, great reports from all of my doctors, and feeling better than I have in years. Would I do it again? YES!!!!!

Congrats on having a date, and taking this important step towards a happier and healthier life. I am just 2 days behind you, so I can't offer advice on whether it's worth it or not. I do know, I've spoken with hundreds of people who say they would do it again, without hesitation. They have all helped me to not be 2nd guessing myself.  There is nothing wrong with you! It is very normal to be nervous. I wish you peace with your decision.  I'll be the one sliding in behind you on the losers bench, unless there is someone on Dec. 4th who hasn't posted about it yet.
Hugs!

Tina, I just sent you a pm. You have indeed a great Doctor. Please hang in there and think of it as last minute jitters. Think of all the great reasons that you are doing this and how it would change the quality of life after you go through with this procedure and what would happen if you don't.  Hopefully we will see each other in a few months in one of the support meetings and it wil all be a matter of past for both of us. Tina you just have pre-op jitters.  If you didn't have them I'd say something WAS wrong with you.  They are very normal.  The surgery will change your life for the better.  Congrats on getting your date!

I had my surgery (RNY) 20 months ago.  I am completely happy with the results and would not have traded this experience for anything!  It has all totally been worth it.  It is a lifestyle change and there have been some challenges (and continue to be some days) along the road but I wouldn't re-do anything to this point - except to have had this done sooner.  I am healthier, happier and more content with myself than I have ever been.  Ultimately you have to have peace about the decision you are making.  No one can have that for you.  Some fear is normal - you are having surgery and saying goodbye to your old eating habits, hopefully for life.  I am sure you will be fine.  It sounds like everything has been set up for you to be successful in your journey.  Hang in there!  A new life awaits you.... Hugs, Robin

Tina - Congrats!  Yes, you ARE blessed for having your family, boss and now us in your corner!!!!  Support is truly what it's all about.  All of your emotions are normal, just know that and ride the wave. My only regret is that I didn't do this years ago! Good luck and let us know if you need anything! Tia

You are just getting into the 2 week freak a bit early. It is totally natural to be nervous. Just keep as busy as you can and the time will pass and you will be on the losers bench. I had the DS which is seen as the most complicated of the WLS. I had no complications and I have no regrets. You have researched and have come to the board for support. You have done all the right things and you are gonna do wonderful.
