Eight Month Update

Hello everyone,' Just a quick note to update the crew.  October 25th I had my 8 month follow-up.  I've lost 87 pounds and weighed in at an even 200 lbs.  I'm wearing size 18 slacks and will probably be moving to 16 size -- depending on styles.  I have a seamstress altering many of my dress slacks and I have a few heavy pants that I especially like to wear during the winter so I told her yesterday if she could get those done and told her to drop them down to a size 16 and put an inch hem in the slacks that will be great.  So now not only do I have to purchase smaller size I have to hem them too.  I saw this handy hand held Singer sewing machine and begin to hem the pants myself -- now that I can do.  Yesterday I finally found sweat pants at Sam's with pockets -- they don't put pockets in the women's sweat pants -- Why?  Because of the loose skin on my thighs I purchased extra large and that is mainly why I still purchase size 18 slacks -- depending on the cut. I must admit I haven't worked out in about 4 weeks.  The most exercise I'm getting now is bowling 3 hours in a league on Sunday (League of Women Bowlers -- I need 2 teammates if anyone is interested).   I also practice a few times during the week and that is about it.  But as far as the walking, biking and weight lifting -- nadda.  However, all is well and I'm doing well -- the only thing that is bugging me now is the gas.  God it seems to have gotten worse -- regardless of what I eat.  So I must find something to curtail the gas after eating -- any suggestions will be great.  Sometimes I wonder if its because I'm going to 3 meals a day and eating various foods and the stomach is detecting changes again.  Oh well, we shall see. Also on the bowling tip -- we are looking for a tenth team, so if you're interested show up at Laurel Lanes on Sunday afternoon @ 2 PM.  Check out the website www.leagueofwomenbowlers.org. Have a Great Week!

Hey Stranger! Its great to see that you are doing so well minus the gas of course!  You were my first friend on here and I should say Hello more often, but I mostly lurk these days. But I am so happy for you!!!!! Hows your family doing? I am still fighting my insurance company but very determined! I had exploratory surgery today and it was horrible! They have an extremely hard time tubing me and today it took 3 aenastesioligist {sp???} to tube me.....my lips, mouth and throat are God awfully sore, scratched and swollen! But they were able to fix the source of my pain! Yippee! Keep on doing what your doing girl! Be well! Heather J

Hey Heather, Glad to hear from you.  I don't even lurk.  Between work and graduate school -- when I get home my computer time is homework.  Classes start again tomorrow so I probably want be on the boards much; however, I do answer any and all emails.  So feel free to email me. Sad to hear they had a hard time tubing you; however, glad to hear they located the source of your pain.  Stay in touch

Sounds like you are doing great!!! I keep Gas X strips around for the gas. That is about the only thing that helps me. Bowling is a great way to get exercise. Too bad I can't bowl. I bowl like a 2 year old- between my legs. LOL

I'll try those -- hey just as long as the ball stays on the lanes -- that's what matters.  We went over to Kings Point last night but no open lanes because they had what is called the Pro Bowlers Association Experience going on for adults and youth.  So I believe I've roped us into that one as well.  There are a couple of adults who bowl professionally so it kind of gets you on the bowling circuit and improves your bowling.
