Ok so this was stupid some what. I join a gym and just love it.  So tanning comes with it.  I love summer and love the sun (save me the speach I know what the sun does).  Well I did the whole tanning this Friday everything went well.  Saturday I was the first person of the day to tan after my work out.  It was not good and still is not.  So odd to me cause Friday went well.  I am burnt to hell!  PAIN!  I know is was stupid but I feel better with color.  So now I am drinking my butt off and taking childrens motrin for the swelling.  It has been a long time since I have gone tanning in a bed but still have some tan from the summer.  Lets put it this way places I have not gotten any tan for awhile are now BLOOD RED.  I was not thinking about my tummy and my scares either and that was stupid.  I just needed to beat myself up in public and now I feel better but my butt is on fire!  I guess that was not a bright idea. Hugs Kristen

Kristen, Do you need a keeper?     How do you propose to sit down?  Vinegar will take some of the stinging away (old Florida remedy).  You may smell like a pickle, but it does bring relief.   From now on be sure to put sunblock on your scars. Take care of yourself.

I've also used Vaseline Intensive Care.  It used to take the sting out for me back when I allowed myself more sun exposure. Edie

I love tanning too.  I haven't done it in a long time but certainly plan to do it before the spring, providing I cnan find the time to add one more thing to my hectic and busy schedule.  Perhaps you were just in there too long for going two days in a row.  My friend here at work went tanning all last spring and for the two weeks she wasn't allowed to tan for more than 5 minutes 3-4 times a week.  After that she increased it to 10 min one week and then 12 min after that but never more than that.  I remember the tanning beds where you could be in there for 15-20 min just for tanning.  (had those at my gym in CA) I hope the "sun" burn goes away quickly. Hugs, Robin

Geesh, hope you feel better soon. hehe I always burn so I don't even attempt to tan anymore. I went through a phase when I was younger and used to go tanning and tanned for a while but last time I tried I was a lobster.

When your skin is warm (ex: after a workout), dont your pores open up more? Doesn't that make sun exposure, real of artificial a no-no??

I meant to add that I hope you feel better soon! I've never used a tanning bed, because I'm scared to death of them. But, I'm not the sharpest crayon in the  box when it comes to sunscreen, and I'm very pale with a pink skin tone. So, I've spent plenty of time regretting spending time in the sun.
Hugs!
