Hi Melissa! Welcome to the forum. I'm 5' and people told me I didn't look like I needed the surgery. I am 90 lbs lighter and feeling great. Everyone now tells me how great I look and are glad I had the surgery. People are so afraid of change. Do what you need to do for you and not for other people.

Welcome to the board, and to your journey towards WLS. You've found a great place for support and friendship. The bypass people here will support you, while the banders will give you great information! Sounds like you do have a lot on your plate, but a very positive outlook to handle it all too.  I was very fortunate. I'm a month away from my surgery, and with one or two minor pitstops, my journey has been very smooth so far. I hope your's is too!
Hugs!

hey melissa great to see you here!!! i can't believe O is already 2 1/2, time flies like crazy!!  don't listen to people who tell you you don't need the surgery...if you feel that it will help you then it's the right thing to do!! especially now when you are young enough to stave off most of the major medical problems that are coming...that's what made the decision for me.  i also had a sleep study done and my apnea was very severe...i slept so much better after i got the CPAP, and my mood improved tremendously as well!! i am excited for you!! when we're both healed, we can be workout buddies!! LOL *smooches* -neska
