Frustrated!! Help!!
I know this has happened to others but I'm feeling pretty frustrated...
I have no lost a single ounce since last Friday when I started purreed foods. . I am following all of the rules. Healthy Request soups are my saving grace. I am drinking 48-64 oz/day and walking about 30 min/day. I'm not constipated. What gives?? I'm not weighing myself daily (ok every 2 days).
Help!! I am 3 weeks post-op. Am I a failure at this??
Yes, you are the only patient for whom this is not going to work!! Obviously, I'm kidding. We've all thought that, trust me.
Keep in mind that your body and your mind have undergone a huge trauma, it's basically saying, "WTF?????"
The only thing I can say is to continue what you're doing. Be compliant with your surgeon's guidelines, the only thing I might do differently is to try to increase your water. Stalls/plateaus or whatever you want to call them are common and will continue to occur.
Also, don't even do the every 2 days on the scale - this is the quickest route to insanity, I promise!!! I started out weighing myself weekly, on the same day every week, usually Tuesday since that's when I had my surgery, then progressed to twice a week, then daily, then twice a day, etc. Your mind is already mourning the TEMPORARY loss of your favorite foods, and dealing with your body's changes and the hormonal changes, is like a double whammy!
Stop beating yourself up - or I will do it for you!! Be compliant and do everything you're doing. Taking care of yourself mentally is key, too!!!!
Hang in there!
Hugs,
Tia
I agree. Ditch the scale for now and pay attention to the other types of changes that your body is going through. My numbers didn't move at first, but my wedding rings fell off my hands at 4 weeks and around 10 weeks, most of my shoes were too big. Good luck!
