CNN Obesity map

Can someone make me understand why we have to go through all this with our insurance companies to get us approved when we have this big of a threat and there is a way/tool/method  to eliminate it and make evryone's life healthier not to mention happier? take a look at the map provided by CNN: http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2007/fit.nation/obesity.map/ Frustrated Ellie

I think it has a lot to do with the fact that they want to be certain we will be able to stick to the program and make a life change.
