Sometimes I ever surprise myself
I hopped on the bathroom scale this morning and lo and behold I'm down 13 lbs since what I weighed the morning of surgery last week.!! Cool beans!!!!!
The last time I weighed this "little" was when we returned from China and I was sick as a dog. I hadn't been able to stuff myself there because I was eating exclusively with chopsticks only and balancing a baby on my lap (look, Mom, another restaurant with no high chairs). I am actually starting to feel pretty good, having moved to mushies yesterday.
Gosh, I feel so hopeful about this surgery this morning!

WOW!!! 13 POUNDS IN A WEEK!!! WOW!!!!! I know you're kissing that scale!!!
I'm glad (well, for you anyway) that you're moving to mushies. For me, every move to the next phase of food was to be celebrated. Having said that, if someone told me today that I'd have to eat pureed anything, I'd be slapping them. The first six weeks post-op are generally the hardest, and honestly, it's a time I wouldn't want to revisit for anything!!!
I did a lot of chicken, tuna, and shrimp salad, along with pureed soups, ricotta cheese, cottage cheese and soft-boiled eggs.
If you need any suggestions, let me know!
Keep up the good work!
